SportsTalkSocial: A Little Light at the End of the Tunnel?
With the help of @voice.direct I managed to contact Patrick.
It was a surprise for me that he responded, which isn't bad.
He says he cannot transfer ownership of all community accounts without a community vote.
I can understand his point, but since we don't have a DAO, since @taskmanager left the ARCHON project, I don't know how we could do this type of vote.
The first question we have to ask the community is:
Do we want to continue as we are (aimless), or would we prefer to create centralized community management and still try to improve things?
The second question would be:
How do we do such a vote without the DAO? Does anyone have an idea?
I would like to have as many opinions and feedback as possible so we can chart a path together.
I decided to mention top 400 SPORTS stakeholders to get as many comments/feedback as possible.

Let's see if is possible to do anything about it
There is poll options on both ecency front end inleo front end we can improvise with that
Thanks for the suggestions
I dont know who is Patrick did they create sports tokens and community or what?

Yes, he created the community and token but is away from Hive
Aha, good to know. Ty for info

I would like Sports community to Survive. Hope someone take the leadership position and continue the project. If the Project owner doesn't want to continue they he should suggest ways in which transfer ownership can be transferred to the good hands in reasonable ways. Im up for any support required.
That is what I am trying to reach.
We are thankful to Patrick to create the community but know we need to do something Otherwise the community will "die"
Without any Centralized Control the Sportstalk Social Platform is very Decentralized… do we need a DAO, a DHF ? These things seem to be abused by a few very Powerful whales or just 1 Whale who controls these Funds. Maybe it’s better to just remain Decentralized ??? Do we need to pay for the Front End Domain or something ?
I guess it’s kind of good when the OG Founder disappears… like Satoshi… as long as all their holdings are also lost… or burned … it’s never good to have some tmysterious unlimited DHF / Fund sitting around… or massive infinite Inflation creating infinite number of new tokens. Is there a cap on Total # of Sports tokens ? This would be great.
What is max supply ?
one quadrillion
I know that people like decentralization and I don't have any against it but in this case we cannot be decentralized since this way we will not move forward and the community will be abandoned.
So where is Patrick these days ?
We don't know anything about him from the last year and half since I have done a proposal to change community ownership.
However, yesterday I was able to contact him via e-mail, and he replied to me
Very mysterious
I just want to be able to find a solution for this situation. Otherwise, the community will continue without any kind of guide
Yes…. it would be great if it could be maintained and grow. Lots of potential for the Sports Token and Community.
Let's see what we can do.
Unfortunately, currently is not on our hands until the accounts ownership transfer be agreed.
Create a poll is now built-in to peakd as well.
I would be glad to see someone like yourself with some initiative take charge of it rather than watch it fade away.

Thanks a lot for the support.
I think if we be able to have the community accounts control we will define a group of people that can define roadmaps and a clear path.
I hope that we find a solution as soon as possible.
Otherwise, we will be a ghost community.
'Try to improve things' is pretty meaningless term, so I'll vote when you outline some plan. What do you want to achieve and how.
I know that is necessary to have a roadmap explaning what we as community what to do but currentlyy I am trying to have some possible way to not let community die.
After we have the accounts control we will define a roadmap with goals.
That doesn't convince me - give me keys to your house, I'll improve it, but will tell you later how...
I really understand your point of view.
However, currently anything is done in the community, not even the most basic thing that is curation.
In this post you can see a draft of the initial plan.
All feedback is welcome.
Let's try to prove this blockchain can do something right about governance long term... I believe it's possible.
All it needs is people's will... aside from that hunger for profits...
And with history, I know some will care!
So, aimless or not, let's propose someone to lead... whom'ever wants to, be voted by the community and then pass responsibilities. This does not need any blockchain tech, just interested people, some time and then validation of consensus.
I can be the people that will be responsible to keep the community accounts ownership at least until we have decided which community users will take control
There is also the possibility of multi-sig... and I would be up for it if that would bring more governance value. But we need to discuss that if people would be interested.
I think the step of multi-sig needs to be very discussed because if people go away from Hive I can return a state like we have today.
I don't have any good suggestion but would love if we somehow could get control of Sportstalksocial somehow.
That is what I am trying get the community control.
This way we will be able to do something.
Am all for reviving the community. I definitely agree that we need some form of intervention, even though I don't fully support a centralised system. Still, anything that puts us back in focus has my support
you don't support a centralised system I understand but currently with a decentralized system the community cannot do anything since even DAO is down.
Maybe bring a vote poll into this?
You can bring a poll post for as long as you want to... and then vouch for that decision. It's similar to how blockchain proposals work, but without any funds involved... basically just a governance impression.
You can then present that to Ulrich and he can take his own decision via community vote.
I checked that inleo frontend have the possibility to create a post with a poll inside.
I think the other problem is reach entire community since a lot of accounts appears to bem inactive.
You can do it anywhere... ecency, peakd, inleo..
@voice.direct remember me that I have a voting system on SportsTalk front end. However, that voting system is for funding and not for governance proposals.
I think what Patrick meant by "community vote" is you create a proposal via SportstalkSocial Proposal.
Posted using SportsTalkSocial
I forgot about that voting system.
However, that voting system is for funding proposals and not for government proposals.
However, maybe is a good alternative since DAO is not working.
create a poll on peakd and let people vote.. it will be easy
Thanks for the suggestion, but @voice.direct remember me that I have a voting poll on SportsTalkSocial frontend.
link, please... not sure but peakd would be easy for many people as not many people visit sportstalk url
https://www.sportstalksocial.com/proposals
I understand but using this one only the Sports holders will be able to vote, and the vote will be Weight
done
Please,
And yes, some roadmap would be great to have before we vote. Especially if we are voting for centralization.
thank you
Hello @ervin-lemark,
Thank you for participating in this open discussion in an attempt to help us find the best path forward for the SportsTalkSocial community and the SPORTS token.
I will change the order of your questions, but I will answer them all.
What are we voting for?
We will vote to decide whether we want to be able to improve the community and the value of SPORTS or whether we are content with the current state where there is no attempt to improve things and where the creator of the community has abandoned it.
Voting for centralization
We all like to have decentralized systems, but if we analyze the current situation of the SportsTalkSocial community, it is not decentralized.
The “DAO” we speak of is not really a DAO as it has at least 4 centralization points:
Taking into account the points mentioned above, we can conclude that we have never been truly decentralized.
RoadMap
You have every right to want to know a roadmap. However, I am currently unable to draw a complete and fully detailed roadmap as I do not have all the data that exists in the community.
I still don't know if we will be able to maintain the front end domain and code since these are assets outside the blockchain, and we may not be able to transfer them.
However, a year and a half ago I made a post where I proposed the first steps to be taken.
I promise that I will try to work on a more detailed and clear roadmap as soon as I have all the data to work with.
Poll Details
Defines community for all accounts that are SPORTS holders.
The people that will have voting right will be SPORTS holders since they are the ones that shall define the best for them interest.
The vote will be weighted according to SPORTS Voting Power, as normally we do.
If “DAO” was working, it would need 51% of Sports VP to be approved.
I'm currently thinking about using the proposal system we have on the Sports Talk Social front end, and I think 51% is also needed (I'm not sure about this since I can't find any posts talking about it).
I hope I have clarified the questions you asked.
Thank you for your answers. It shows you care. The issue is, in my opinion, you might be the only one who cares. Or one of the few.
That's why I think the first step would be to find out if there really is an active community that is interested in continuing and reviving and bringing this Sports Social story on another level.
Personally, I am selling $SPORTS tokens and soon I won't be a part of this "community" any longer.
Please, don't take it personally, it isn't meant so. I simply don't see any future here. I asked my questions for clarification and to help wake up others who might be interested.
Good luck with your efforts, anyways.
