Season 20 Heads-up

Hello Players and Fans,

Season 19 has just ended, but I am already planning the next one. The 20th edition will be special. Instead of 24 players, 36 will be competing.

Tentatively, I will aim for the month of December, immediately following the end of @Poliac Edition 20.

If you follow football (for Americans here - football is a game in which a spherical object is kicked by feet and only one player is allowed to use hands), you may have noticed the new format of UEFA Champions League. 36 teams compete in one monster of a league. Single or double robin modes are not possible, so UEFA introduced an interesting system. Teams are divided into 4 pots, by teams' ranking. Then each team plays against 2 teams from each spot.

Season 20 of @macfit will follow the same idea. 36 players in one league. Each player will play 8 matches. To make it reasonably fair, players will be divided into pots and like in UEFA CL, a given participant will play against two players from each spot. I will also introduce the concept of home and away games.

More details will follow as we get closer to the season start (early December 2024). At this time, I can disclose the pots. The top is based on most recent achievements, pots 2-3 follow @macfit ranking and the 4th will be open for qualifiers.

*) If players from Pot 3 are moved up, their slots will be filled by players listed below, in the order shown. Also, players from this pot, who do not confirm participation, will have to take part in qualifiers. We don't want any non-active players.

Season 20 promises to be an interesting one. December is a busy month too, walk trekking, !LOLZ.
