Morning Run: Longer than intended

Description from Strava:
I was marshalling at parkrun yesterday, so I wanted to run today as I try to get back into regular outings. We have had some storms lately with heavy rain, so I was hoping it would be dry for me. I am sure I heard rain in the night, but there was no sign of it this morning.
I was thinking I would run for about an hour. As usual I started by going up the hill to Fairfield. I was listening to an old episode of RadioLab that was very appropriate as it talked about how humans evolved to run. It went on to talk about a 50 mile race in the US where runners compete against others on horses. You will have to listen to find out who won. That did inspire me to keep going on a much shorter run. That was followed by Infinite Monkey Cage on Bees vs Wasps.
I took the long way around Stotfold and then out towards Astwick. The start of the path across the fields back towards Etonbury is very overgrown and I had to weave past the nettles.
It was quite muggy, so I felt warm. I could feel my hip, but it was not too bad. Actually my back was really stiff when I got up and I was having trouble bending, but it did not affect my running too much. Sometimes I feel old.
I got back a bit later than intended as we were due to go up the road to mark 100 years of the village war memorial. I just had time for breakfast and a shower. There were a lot of people up there and some British Legion guys with a flag. My other half has a relative on the memorial.
I am just having a coffee then I need to muck out the chickens before heading off for a band rehearsal. It is a busy day.
Run free.

Nice job on your run! No exercise for me today. Gonna be trapped in a car for six hours or so!
I hope the traffic is not too bad. Have a good trip.
