Podutik - Jakob - Podutik

Three weeks ago the long run was from Podutik up to the village of Topol and back down. Today it was almost the same with the difference being the goal. It was the hill of Sv. Jakob which is good two kilometers away from Topol with some additional climb.

After some nine kilometers of run and hike this was the first view of my destination this morning. Nice, isn't it?

Closer and closer with every step I took.

Finally, at the top. The view is magnificient.

After some rest and a chat with a colleague that I met at the top it was time to head back down.

In the end it was over 20 kilometers with 800 meters of climb. Satisfied.

Stunning views, is that a church on the peak of the hill? It certainly looks like one - but that would be quite a unique choice on that peak.

Yes, it is a church. They are more a rule that an exception in this part of the world. You know, taking over energy spots and controlling the peasants from above !LOLZ

It's a beautiful building though, the white exterior walls are so pristine despite being on such an exposed spot - it must be constantly maintained. I found out Sveti Jakob is the name of both the hill and the church, Slovenia is packed full of history and scenery, it's definately on my list of places to visit.

Thank you so much for the support, the Hive Engine expiring Witness Votes has certainly shaken up the rankings, but the Workerbee holders list is very small - and finding people that are interested in voting at all incredibly difficult. Being a Hive Engine Witness will remain an unprofitable challenge for many unless the distribution of Workerbee becomes more widespread.

Saint Jacob is both hill and the church. Quite common in Slovenia.

Yes, moving on the witness list by yourself is impossible. WORKERBEE is so scarce. There should be a way to convert BEE into WORKERBEE.

These photos are from Solčava, taken today. Cerkev Marije Snežne or Saint Mary of the Snows.

Through the forest, barely seen.

And a closer look with a truck on the parking lot. Solčava is a closed area these days after the flood. There is heavy machinery on the roads cleaning after the landslides.

I think I missed the news about flooding in Slovenia, all we seem to hear at the moment is that most of Europe is on fire! Beautiful scenery though, I love tree filled mountains like that we do not get so many heavily wooded areas like that in the UK.
