21세기폭스 (21st Century Fox Inc.)는 2013년 언론 및 출판을 맡는 뉴스 코프와 영화ㆍ방송을 맡는 21세기 폭스로 분사되었습니다.

그리고 2017년 디즈니 가 폭스를 인수하게 되었습니다.
무려 $52.4 billion 입니다.
이는 타임워너 인수합병 이후 가장 큰 금액의 빅딜입니다.

또한 폭스는 신규 게임 개발 부서 폭스 넥스트 (FOXNEXT)룰 출범시켰습니다

폭스는 자신이 보유한 다양한 지적재산권(IP)을 활용하여 게임을 개발할 예정입니다.
심슨, 에일리언 등 게임화할 재산권은 다양합니다.


특히 에스에프 쪽의 강력한 소재들이 많습니다.

에일리언과 혹성탈출을 활용한 VR 콘텐츠도 대기중입니다.
가상현실이라는 측면에서 본다면 폭스사가 상당히 강점이 있을 듯 합니다.
에이리언 같은 공포를 가상현실 증강현실에서 체험한다면 게임의 재미는 극대화 되겠죠

영화 방송의 강자 폭스사가 그 영역을 게임에 까지 성공적으로 확장할 수 있을까요
컨텐츠 시장의 최강자 월트디즈니가 뒤에서 받쳐 준다는 점을 고려하면
그리 어려운 일만도 아닐 것 같습니다.
