Trying to stay positive. My Actifit Report Card: June 20 2023

As usual the day started off with me taking the dog for his regular walk.

No work today so after the dog walk I got on Hive and made my post for the day.

My wife was off today so after my post we both went to the gym. It's nice to have someone to go with and a gentle kick in the butt to get me to the gym is a good thing.

Today was mostly cardio with a little bit of weights. Sure I should probably do more but first day back at the gym, better to start slowly.

Unfortunately after the gym I had to go to the dentist. Now I thought I was going for a consult for a cracked tooth. However, it turned into a full extraction of my molar.

Now I've had the same dentist for almost 20 years. When he starts apologizing in advance and lets me know this is going to hurt. Well, lets say that it doesn't make me too happy

But delaying it won't make it better so I take a deep breath and do my best to relax while he is doing his work.

The sound of the drill though....yuck.

The burning smell as he's chopping through my tooth....even worse.

Then there is the pulling and wiggling trying to remove the tooth. I kept forcing myself to relax, close my eyes, and focus on breathing.

Luckily the freezing worked and after the extraction...immediately....I went to the pharmacy to get some pain medication.

I also had to go buy milk. Even after tooth extraction I'm still a Dad and that means errands to run.

However, I told my wife once the freezing wore off I wouldn't be doing anything.

I was right. The freezing wore off 6 hours ago and I'm still in a lot of pain. I keep telling myself it will get better. I keep telling myself that its part of the healing process. I keep telling myself to stay positive.

I'll admit that it really isn't pleasant though. I could use stronger words...but I'll keep it civil.
