steevc just finished a 10.02km run, that lasted for 63 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 753.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It got really windy yesterday, but was not too bad this morning. I set out intending to do about 10km, and I got that pretty much spot on.

There were signs up the road saying it was closed, so I thought I would check as I need to get to Hitchin for the open mic later. Some signs say it is shut from tomorrow and it was open as far as I could see. I went up to the football club and then took the track that leads to the Blue Lagoon. I looked at one path forking off that, but it had too many nettles for a guy in shorts. There was another farm track that looked like it led up to Fairfield, so I went that way. At the end of that track it was into the trees, but no sign of nettles. The path was very winding and went around the Green Lagoon. There are very steep slopes down to that, so you do not want to slip. Both 'lagoons' are former quarries that filled with water. A few patients of the former asylum ended up in them. I was not keep to join them.

Eventually I emerged on the path around Fairfield, but I cut straight through the estate. I saw quite a few runners out this morning, some more than once.

There are still roadworks on the road on the other side, so I had to cross the road for a while. I took the direct route through Stotfold as I did not want to go so far today. I did take the long way around Arlesey via the allotments and then through The Rally. As I got home my watch ticked over to 10km.

It was not a quick run, but I feel these runs help maintain my fitness. My hip was definitely better this week and I hardly noticed it a lot of the time.

Podcast listening included Cryptomaniacs about Hive, Radiolab on tree rings and Pod Save the UK on politics.

Have a good week and run free.

"Lakeside".. Did you get anything nice? 😉
That looks like it could make a nice doggie walk some time..
See you later.

No shops there. I expect some of the local dog walkers use that path. It's just a little dodgy if it were slippery as you could fall a long way.

You probably expended more energy in the wind, especially if head-on. I was having to brace myself walking through it yesterday at some point

It wasn't too bad really. There was a lot of tree debris around, but I didn't see any serious damage.

Road construction is a whole season here. They always seem to close all the roads at the same time too. It's horrible. I have to mow my lawn today, so that will be my exercise!

There's various works going on around here. I'm glad I don't have to drive much, but most people need a car as public transport is limited.

That's a nice run mate. I did a 12km walk the other day. Unfortunately, no more running for me... back injury...

Walking in such a beautiful place especially during the summer is a pleasure in itself as we see that the trees are more beautiful.
