Description from Strava:
We had a bit of rain last night and more is forecast for today, but it held off for my run. I expect a few people have a day off for May Day and we do here in the UK. My half marathon is on Sunday, so I am going to ease off on running now. My feet are still healing from the recent blisters and my hip is not feeling quite right. I will do some other exercises, but more running will not improve my legs significantly before the race.
I did the clockwise version of my loop around the villages. Conditions were ideal for me with just a few puddles to show it rained. There were lots of runners out and I expect some are also doing the race. One guy came past me at a good pace that I was not even going to try and match.
I do not have any pain, but I just notice how my body is performing. That is what makes me think I need a few days off. I have volunteered to help at parkrun on Saturday and will be doing some other walking as I will be in the office for a couple of days.
The pace was nothing special today. I would like to go a little quicker in the race, but will see how it goes. I hope to be under two hours, but I was just over last year. I have done that event a few times and I know all about the hills.
Have a great week and run free.

As I’ll write up in my Actifit report for today, we’ve just been to spectate the Shinfield 10k this morning, we keep thinking about doing it, well it will be next year if we do. Lots of great amenities for running here, nice safe roads for starters and tracks for some cross country.
10k is very achievable for most people. Just have to build up gradually. We have good routes around here too and I have explored a lot of them.
What brand of shoe do you prefer for your running?
I've used various shoes. Currently on Allbirds that are more ethical than most. I'm still adjusting to my new pair.
Ok, they are something I’ll need to get if we are seriously going to give this a try.
There's loads of choice in shoes these days. It may be worth going to a running shop where they can advise you. They can be expensive, but you need to care for your feet.
Yeah my feet are my worry and one of the reasons I’ve refrained from running but we both need to lose a bit of belly! Kayaking is great for our uppermost parts and legs to a degree. I used to run when at school and normally enjoyed it all of those years ago, hmm 40 probably lol.
Someone also spoke about the May day this morning. I guess I have to make some researches to know how serious people from other countries take it
May Day has specific celebrations in some countries, but is mostly just a day off in the UK. We get a couple of these in May plus an extra one this year for the coronation.
Due to being busy with marriage, I also can't go on walk but now again after a couple of days I will start.
I'm also planning to go on walk from tomorrow, lets see if I can go or not :P
