Morning Run: Hop to it
@steevc just finished a 7.02km run, that lasted for 42 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 499.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
I did not have the best sleep last night, but I was up around 7am anyway to get out for a run. It has been sunny lately, but can still be cold at night and it was still overcast then. It was fine for me though. As I set out I was getting some twinges from my right foot, but I carried on and it was fine.
On my way up West Drive a guy came past me and there was no way I would keep up with him. I saw a couple of other runners today. I did the usual loop around Fairfield and it looks like I got quicker as I went on.
When I came back down the hill I tried to keep the pace up. I was hoping to get the average under 6min/km and I did manage that. I am seeing some improvement lately. I am likely to get slower as I get older and so I am competing against that. I like to think that I still have some potential to improve.
I had started off not being too sure what sort of run it would be, but it turned out quite good. Of course I was exhausted at the end, but I soon recover.
Podcast listening was mostly Add to Playlist (BBC). One of the tunes was the original Woody Woodpecker song. That seemed appropriate as I often here those birds around Fairfield. Apparently this song was a huge hit when it came out in 1948. I think the cartoons I watched as a kid had a different version.
Run free!

Nice work with that run
I didn't know there was a service that automatically sends Strava reports to Hive. I will consider using Strava again
Check out @strava2hive as it works well. I've used it for a while now.
Those birds are loud everywhere haha. Nice run man. The Woody Woodpecker song is an awesome choice !LOLZ

I've added the song into the post now. I have headphones that still let me hear things when I run and I enjoy the birds.
awesome awesome awesome man, let me revisit it✌️💪
Well done and yes, ageing is always a factor when it comes to speed. Lately I walk around at a snail's pace, or should I say like a drunken snail, as I continue to have dizzy spells.
!BEER
Age tends to bring various issues. I hope I have a few more years of running in me. I see folk in their 70s and even 80s at parkrun who inspire me.
True enough and we also have the plus 80s running marathons here. Sadly my running days ended at 1980, as a had a close to death accident on my motorbike, leaving me with a very long hospital stay and a left leg that is shorter than my normal right leg.
But I am not complaining, as I have learnt how to hop along at a fast pace !LOL
I think we have to consider ourselves lucky to get to a good age in one piece. I've managed not to break any bones so far and I did ride motorbikes.
Yep, you are indeed lucky, but accidents happen in a blink of an eye, and I was swiped from behind at a traffic light by a taxi that knocked me into oncoming traffic.
Ow. We're luck you are still with us. I was shunted by a car just after I passed my bike test, but I was unhurt.
Just the way of life my friend, and glad that you were not hurt, !LOL

I was lazy this morning and skipped my workout. I usually just take a cue from my wife. If she gets up I get up, if she sleeps I sleep. Today she was having a lot of muscle aches, so she decided to skip it. I have zero doubt we will both be right back at it tomorrow morning. I also have a lot of physical labor I need to do this weekend, so it should even out!
My other half is not working this week, so she stayed in bed. We do not exercise together anyway. I don't work out every day, but I think I do enough.
My wife and I don't really work out together, but we work out at the same time. She is upstairs the days I use the treadmill and on the other days we are both downstairs.
It's good to keep fit! I heard running enhances cardiovascular health and builds strong muscles and bones. My mind wants to keep fit, but my body is lazy. I hope I make it a habit one day.
By the way, I'm sure you'll still be a good runner at eighty.🤍
Running has many benefits. I just want to stay fit and healthy.
I'm sure your body appreciates that all the time.
Have a nice day✨
Buen recorrido
