Morning Walk: parkrun marshalling at end of Move-ember

steevc just finished a 3.85km walk, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This walk helped steevc burn 369.9 calories.

Description from Strava:
I had not been to the Henlow Bridge Lakes parkrun in a while since I hurt my back, but I decided to volunteer today. My back is still sore, but I can get around. After some freezing mornings it was quite mild out today, but the course would still be a little muddy. Someone said some other events were cancelled due to flooding, but this one was okay. It can flood as it goes around some lakes.

I was stationed on the campsite entrance. That is a good one as it is just past the finish and so you can leave as soon as everyone has started their last lap. It also meant I had less far to walk. We only got a few vehicles going in and some had to wait for the runners to pass. There did not seem to be as many runners as other recent events. I think this is my 44th time helping out, so I should get my 50th early next year.

My work have been doing Move-ember for a charity and I would have hoped to clock up a lot of distance with my running, but that was scuppered by my injury. I still logged some walking and managed about 110km over the month. If I had been running then it might have been around 200km. I am healing and may be running again next month.

This run will appear on Hive and earn me something. Any Stravans are very welcome to join that and I can set you up.

Hey, that’s actually cool you can “convert” your personal effort into charity. There used to be a similar project in the Czech Republic, but it failed. The mobile app was kinda glitched, it killed your battery in a couple of weeks, so people gave up.

This doesn't directly translate distance to money. People can just donate and we make a contest of it at work.
