The Power of Movement – How Fatigue Turns into Energy
Today was one of those days when I knew from the start it was going to be tough. At work, the kids were bursting with energy, and I had to stay on high alert—constantly preventing disasters, keeping things under control, and putting out small fires. After a day like that, my first instinct was to collapse onto the bed and not move until morning. But I knew that wouldn’t help. Instead, I chose what always resets me—walking and swimming.
I won’t lie, getting out of the house required a serious pep talk. But after just a few minutes of walking, I already felt better. When I reached the pool and stepped into the water, everything changed. Lap after lap, my movements became more fluid, and the exhaustion of the day slowly drifted away. My initial plan was to swim my usual 50 lengths, but since I felt great, I added 10 more. In the end, I swam 1,500 meters!
Outside, the weather was crazy—minus 6°C in the morning and a sunny 12°C in the afternoon. Tomorrow is also supposed to be sunny, which means more time outdoors. Today, my step count hit 19,231—not bad at all! The scale also showed progress—another kilogram down.
After swimming, I came home feeling completely refreshed. Nothing recharges me like a solid dose of movement!

Dziś był jeden z tych dni, kiedy od samego rana czułam, że będzie ciężko. W pracy dzieci miały wyjątkowo dużo energii, a ja musiałam być w pełnej gotowości – co chwilę jakaś akcja, pilnowanie, zapobieganie katastrofom i gaszenie małych pożarów. Po takim dniu najchętniej rzuciłabym się na łóżko i nie ruszała do końca wieczoru. Ale wiem, że to nie działa. Zamiast tego postawiłam na to, co zawsze mnie resetuje – spacer i basen.
Nie ukrywam, że wyjście z domu wymagało ode mnie sporej dawki motywacji. Ale już po kilku minutach marszu poczułam, że robię coś dobrego dla siebie. Po dotarciu na basen weszłam do wody i… zaczęło się! Długość za długością, ruchy stawały się coraz bardziej płynne, a zmęczenie z całego dnia powoli odpływało. Planowałam tradycyjne 50 długości, ale skoro czułam się świetnie, dorzuciłam jeszcze 10. Ostatecznie przepłynęłam 1500 metrów!
Na zewnątrz pogoda oszalała – rano -6°C, a po południu słoneczne 12°C. Jutro też ma być pięknie, co oznacza więcej czasu na świeżym powietrzu. Dziś licznik kroków pokazał 19 231 – całkiem nieźle! Waga również odnotowała postęp – kolejny kilogram mniej.
Po basenie wróciłam do domu z zupełnie nową energią. Nic tak nie resetuje, jak solidna dawka ruchu!

So walking and swimming can reset the body from feelings of fatigue to energy? Wow! I don't even know how to swim. It's like I will make out time for to learn it
It worked for me, I think it's worth finding an activity that will give you a similar feeling. For me it's swimming and walking, someone else will find dancing helpful. It's worth considering what will give you a similar effect, and it's worth learning to swim at any age, it's a very healthy form of activity :)
