Season 19: Group Phase Schedule

Good Day,

@Poliac season has just ended, so to keep us in shape, let's start a new season of @macfit right away. The group phase will be played between September 18 and 25.

After the roller-coaster of season 18 - the Olympics, we are back to the usual format. 24 players will compete in 6 groups, playing a single round robin mode. Two best players from each group and four best 3rd-placed players will advance to the playoffs. The brackets will be formed based on group phase performance.

A small novelty is introduced this season. Rather than playing on three consecutive days, the match days will be spaced by 2 days of rest. This makes everyone aware of their situation before they play the next match.

Groups A, B, C will play on next Wednesday - Saturday - Tuesday and the match days for groups D, E, F are on next Thursday - Sunday - Wednesday. Thus, all players have one match on the weekend and two on working days.

How do you see your groups? The seeded players in each group were the best 8 in the last season. Will they keep it up? How would the best players of just finished @poliac 19 play? Will they continue pushing on or would like to take it easy?

Group A
It's probably safe to bet that @bucipuci shouldn't have any problems advancing to the playoffs. But we have two players from @poprzeczka, who did not participate in @poliac. Their form might be a mystery.

Group B
Topped by @merthin, who finished second both in the last @macfit and @poliac tournaments and won the August edition of @poprzeczka. Would the other 3 players challenge him? Note, this is the only group with all 4 players from @poliac Golden League (@homesteadlt has been just relegated, though)

Group C
Three top guns and @kap1 who makes a debut in @macfit. Well, names don't play and the favorites will need to prove their worth.

Group D
Another debuting player here - @alovely088. @manuvert is the current @macfit ranking leader and he always performs well.

Group E
The third debuting player this year, @timehacker, has got a group that might be pretty even. Watch out for @erikklok as he has just advanced big style from @poliac Silver to Golden league. @fredkese is probably not impressed by that and will do his best to win this group.

Group F
@new.things is the newly crowned @poliac champion. Is he tired or would the title inject new energy into him? It's difficult to predict how the other players would perform, as in the past their results were sketchy. They can lose all or challenge everyone.

what typically happens is that some players who did well in @poliac, take a rest. But you never know who's going to take it easy and who's all in!
