IPL 2023 - The road to final.

Hello and welcome to all the readers.

IPL (indian premier league) 16th edition started on march 31st 2023.
10 teams divided into two groups of 5 teams competed for the trophy. 40 round robin matches were played.

At one point more than 5 teams were competing for the 3 spots. The last spot for the playoffs was decided in the final round robin match.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had to just win the match to qualify for the playoffs. But they lost and Mumbai Indians sneaked in.

Then the playoffs got more intense and exciting to watch.

The story so far:

• The first playoff match - Qualifier 1, was played between the top 2 teams on the table
  Gujarat Titans v/s Chennai Super Kings at Chennai on 23rd May 2023.
  Chennai Super kings won the match and went straignt into the finals.

• The second playoff match - Eliminator, was played between the 3rd and the 4th team on the table
  Mumbai Indians v/s Lucknow Super Giants at Chennai on 24rd May 2023.
  Mumbai Indians won the match convincingly.

• The third playoff match - Qualifier 2 was played between the loser of qualifier 1 and winner of the Eliminator.
  Gujarat Titans v/s Mumbai Indians at Ahmedabad on 26th May 2023
  Gujarat Titans won the match in style and will now play the finals.

Yes, the final will be played on Sunday 28th May 2023.
Chennai Super Kings v/s Gujarat Titans.
Which intern is a clash between the two top teams on the table.
A re-match to win the title and the trophy.

This is Gujarat Titans second year in IPL and they have already won once. Whereas, Chennai Super Kings have previously played 13 editions of IPL and won 4 titles so far.

Players to look for in this encounter.

• Shubman Gill has been star batter for Gujarat Titans. He has scored 3 centuries and is in good form. He has capitalized on every opportunity he has got, especially when the opponent drops his catch.
• The opening duo of Devon Convey and Ruturaj Gaikwad, has given a very good start for Chennai Super Kings.
• As far as bowlers are concerned, Gujarat Titans have match winning bowlers and same goes for the chennai super kings.
  But Gujarat fast bowlers have taken more wickets in first 6 overs.
  That gives them the advantage.
• MS Dhoni is one more player to look forward to. This may be his last IPL outing and would like to finish with a trophy.

I think, the toss may have some say in the game.

Let the best team win on that day.
This reminds me of one of my favourite hindi movie - "Jo Jeeta wohi sikandar".
