T20 Cricket has come a long way for women in India. The third edition of WPL (Women's Premier League - 2034/25) started on 14th Feb 2025.

Five teams competing for this year's trophy. The defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W), played the first match against Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) and started their journey with a win.

Yesterday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) played their final league match against Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) and won by 11 runs and stopping Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) to top the table.

Now, that the league matches are over. The table stands as follows.

Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) topped the table and move directly to the final for the third time in a row, but have yet to win the trophy

The second and the third team will play an eliminator match tomorrow. Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) v/s Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W).

Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) are favourite to win. Gujarat Giants (GG-W) Women have lost all the matches against them. Though the odds are against them, Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) do have a good chance to win.
The best performing team on that day will win and reach the final.

The winner of the eliminator will play against Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) on saturday 15th March, the finals.

Tomorrow's eliminator match will be exciting. As Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) will try to break the losing cycle and Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) will look for a first edition repeat.

Batting

For Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W), Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews are the key to their batting.
The other players to look for - Harmanpreet Kaur, Amelia Kerr

For Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W), Beth Mooney and Asheigh Garner have to perform well.
The other players to look for - Harleen Deol, Bharti Fulmali and Deandra Dottin

Bowling

For Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) the bowlers to look for - Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr

For Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) the bowlers to look for - Kashvee Gautam, Tanuja Kanwar

Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) do have an advantage as it's their home ground.

Conclusion

Though the stats are against Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W), i still think they have a good chance to defeat Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W).
In the last league match, they almost won the match, lost just by 9 runs on the same ground.
