How Fasting Triggers Ketosis and Promotes Fat Burning
Fasting is getting your body in a fasted state. Aka no blood sugar spikes for a prolonged period of time. If coffee spikes blood sugar which for some it does, you get out of a fasted state. While in a fasted state your body turns to ketosisz this switch is what made jack here tired, he's not proficient in switching to ketosis. While in ketosis your body starts to prefer fat as fuel over sugar.
And That's why fasting burns fat. The moment blood sugar spikes its reverted to sugar burning.
Sugar, in too high concentration, slices open the blood vessels from the inside. As such you start to bleed internally. This is why your body goes to burning sugar as priority no.1. Any excess sugar gets turned to fat via insulin response
Burning fat (ketosis) is the bodies preferred way of getting energy. Sugar burning however has higher priority due to it killing you if concentration gets too high.
"But if I'm in ketosis, how will i get glycogen for my muscles?"
Two main methods. Either your body turns glycol into sugar or protein. Protein is sourced from unused sources, intestines, muscles ect.
Glycol is what binds three fatty acids. This combination is how your body stores fat. When you burn fat you generate the sugar you need for daily functioning as well.
The longer you stay in ketosis the more it's skewed towards fat burning over sugar, eventually thanks to the glycol getting to 95% fat burned and 5% sugar.
