Changing FTP on Garmin Watch... Mission Impossible
Some light activity, one short MyWhoosh ride and some walk in the park. But... let me share how to change FTP from automatic calculation on Garmin watch to manual input.
Recently I've been pretty inactive and my FTP is much lower than what Garmin thinks. I did a proper FTP test and wanted to input that change into Strava and Garmin, so they can track my activities better. What a mission...
For Strava - I didn't find how to change manually FTP. It seams that they hide that option in premium subscription. If anybody knows how - let me know.
For Garmin... let's just say that it is not friendly interface. Only way is to use mobile version of Garmin Connect.
Connect to your watch first:
Wait for watch so sync and update if Connect suggest that. Then go to your device:
From options choose User Profile, then go to Heart and Power zones:
Choose Power zones and your activity:
After choosing cycling, finally you will find option to change ftp:
After that, sync your watch and for any case - check are the changes committed. I had to do it twice 😉
I cannot believe it has to be this complicated. If you have more than one device, this procedure is nightmare 🤬
