dannewton just finished a 10.53km run, that lasted for 62 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 872.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Absolutely vile out there today! We've got another storm passing through (Storm Darragh) and once again we have heavy rain, risk of flooding and very strong winds. I did check the weather forecast, and it looks like its going to hit us in Lincolnshire later this afternoon, with strong winds in force all the way through into tomorrow.

The rai did ease of briefly around 11am, so I took my chances to try and get a run completed. I had wanted to go for a longer effort today, but my hip/leg is still playing up, and with the weather being how it is then I quickly decided that something would be better than nothing!

I took the path out along the bypass for 5km, and then turned and headed back home for an easyish 10km. I managed to get the first half completed mostly in the dry, but for the second half the heavens opened and I was absolutely soaked. When I got home I immediately through the clothes in the washing machine, as it would be quicker to wash/spin dry them rather than wait for them to drip dry lol.

In other news, I went to the physio last thursday for another painful but productive session. The therapist established that there are 2 issues, 1st is a tendon strain in my groin, and the 2nd is a strain of the rectus femoris (one of the quad muscles). Advised me to self massage using a massage ball and foam roller, and also to foam roll the outside of my calf muscle as that should help as well.

Feeling a little more positive that the injury has been properly diagnosed now, but its still gonna take time to fully heal

For the rest of the day I need to pop to the shops for a few bits, and then when I come home I need to get all the mas presents wrapped. Everything is bought now, so I need to wrap everything and the I can put it away. I do still need to put Xmas decs up, but that might be a job for next weekend. I might get the boxes down from the loft in preparation though.

And then tomorrow I will be dog sitting, as my Dad is off to watch a football game. And as the Storm is still going to be active tomorrow, I guess I'll be getting soaked again!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
