Description from Strava: And I mean literally running an errand!

Its my brothers birthday at the weekend (and its his wifes birthday 3 days later) so I was writing cards last night. I was going to add the address on them so I could post them first thing this morning, but I could remember his flippin' adddres! I knew the street it was on, and if I googled that then I would be able to work out the post code etc.

But was it house number 15 or 17????

After racking my brain trying to remember, I suddenly had a brainwave. He only lives in the next village... why don't I run there and post it by hand?

So I did!

I arrived home from work at 6pm, and quickly changed, (picked up the cards of course!) and headed out.

Weather wise, its been a much better day and definitely better than the torrential downpours on Monday AND Tuesday. Today was cool, but with clear blue skies, and it was perfect for a little run out. There was a pretty nice little sunset, but no phone with me so you'll just have to take my word for it!

After leaving the house with cards in hand (in a bag so my hands didn't sweat all over them) I settled into an easy pace, and trundle along the long straight and into Waddington. He lives in the new estate on the edge of the village, so a quick left and right and I was there. His car was out, so I just posted them through the letterbox.

Errand completed, I checked my watch... only 2.44 km... I was hoping to do 6km today, so I decided to continue my run into Waddington and do a little loop around before heading back for home.

I arrived home just after 7pm, and was surprised to see street lights beginning to switch on. But then I guess we are now into October, and the nights are drawing in quicker and quicker. I think from next week on I'll be taking a headtorch out with me, it won't be long before I'll be starting and finishing in the dark.

Tomorrow is a rest day, so no running at all. We are all meeting up on Saturday to celebrate their birthdays with a little get together, and of all the places my brother has picked to meet up, he's chosen Whisby.

Yep, thats the same Whisby that I ran round and saw my Dad last Saturday!

So I guess I'll be going round there again (a little slower this time). It does mean that I will have to miss parkrun this weekend, as I won't be able to run at 9am. Its also gonna be a struggle to fit my long run in as well, but rest assured I'll find somewhere to wedge it in!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
