Description from Strava: A couple of easy runs to start the week.

First up was Monday. As a change of pace I was actually in the office on Monday, its usually one of the days I work from home. I can't even remember the last time I've worked in the office for the first day of the week, its been that long!

The reason fo switching it up is that I want to opted to work from home on Friday, as my partner is packing all her stuff together this weekend in preparation to heading back to start her 2nd year at uni, and I want to make sure I'm available to help sot stuff out

It has had a knock on effect with my training, I'd usually aim for 16km on a monday evening to start the weeek, but being in the office means getting home later. And this results in less time available to get a workout done.

As a compromise, I elected to just do a smaller loop for a total of 11km, and then I could make up the rest on Tuesday

After a busy weekend here and here, I made sure that Mondays run was an easy zone 2 affair. To be honest, it was quite easy to maintain a low heart rate, purely because it was a lovely cool evening out there

I was pleased to maintain a reasonable pace of under 6min/km despite the 'lower' effort... and it shows my training is starting to head in the right direcction again after the blip in early summer where I was starting to lose focus.

It also helped by the cool conditions to be fair!

Tuesdays run was even better.

I was once again in the office, and once again I was unable to get home until after 6pm, but I still managed to find some time for a smaller 6km run to make up for the missing distance from yesterday

The weather was brighter and sunnier, but it was still the same cool temps of 10-12C, and so it was very easy to keep my heart rate in the zone 2 range (the range is somewhere between 135-148pm btw)

The above shows I managed to average 142bpm, and still managed an average pace of 5:46min/km

I know its not quick by any stretch, but it is quicker than I would usually manage, and again is part of the same slow and steady improvement I've been seeing over the past 3-4 weeks.

It's all good :-)

Tomorrow I will be out for a longer run, and I'll at least be working from home, so will have time to get a longer run in. I suspect its gonna mostly be more zone 2 running, but I might add in some short intervals... we shall see

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
