Afternoon Run - 12 km (easy zone 2 effort)
dannewton just finished a 12.22km run, that lasted for 74 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 940.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Another easy zone 2 run. I chose a different route to the bypass, and instead headed down along Brant Road, and then back up through Waddington
It was a little breezy out there, but despite that it still felt very warm in the afternoon sun. I left my baseball cap at home by mistake, and while it would have helped shield the eyes from the glare of the sun, I missed it mostly as it stops sweat from running down into my eyes.
Apart from the eyes stinging, it was a pleasant little run, only spoilt really by the realization that I had actually meant to do a speedwork session this evening, but didn't remember until I was nearly back at home!
Oh well, guess I'll have to try to remember next week!
In other news, I've started to plan ahead for some races/events next year... there is a small selection in the Spring, and I could really do with having something booked, to help keep my training focused. I'm still undecided at the moment, the races range from a 10K in my home town, a Half Marathon up in the North of Lincolnshire, or having a second go at the UltraMarathon at Burton Waters. They all take place in the space of 3 weeks, so I can't do all of them well, so I kinda need to hurry up and make a decision.
I'll keep you posted on that... whenever I get round to it lol.
In the mean time, my plans are just to keep consistently running and building a base so that whichever event I pick next Spring, I'm already getting prepared for it. I also plan to do some more parkruns (and more importantly some different parkruns, as I need to try a different route. I'm thinking of trying the Doddington Hall one this Saturday coming, and as I don't drive I will hopefully be incorporating it into part of a longer run.
8km run there, 5km run round, 8km run home = just about a Half Marathon
Will I actually make it there, or will I end up staying in bed snoozing... I guess we shall see!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

It'll be a while 'til I become a proper 'tourist' like you!
Theres 3 in Lincoln. The closest is 4km away which I run too. The other 2 are 8km and 11km away, so will be able to do as part of a 'long run', with a 5km time trial in the middle!
It'll also help give me an excuse to run some new routes/trails in order to get there... watch this space!
