dannewton just finished a 55.04km run, that lasted for 348 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 4011.0 calories.

Description from Strava: An absolutely beautiful day out there, pretty much perfect conditions to try to run as far as I can in 7 hours, courtesy of Vigilantes Maravan who hosted the event.

And run far I did, with my longest ever distance of 55km, which also included a sneaky marathon PB too!

With a great event, great course, great weather and great company it was smiles all round (except my poor little legs of course!) I'm now showered and changed, and ready to have Pizza for tea, along with ALL the snacks afterwards.

My legs don't actually feel as bad as I expected, but I suspect they will be the worse for wear tomorrow! 😅

I've attached a couple of pics below, and I will be back in a couple of days with a proper race report etc

now then, is my pizza ready yet!!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Cheers Vince!

I was surprised at how consistent my pace was in the end... i was averaging 6:00 to 6:20 for the first 40km, definitely helped me to catch people who went out faster and then ended up slowing down.

Now for a week of recovery, and then i can throw myself in to marathon training

Well done! It's been a lovely day here too. I just don't think I could run that far. I hope you recover quickly.

Honestly, we were spoilt with the weather here (no rain, and no blinking wind either!)

It takes practice, and motivation I guess, you kinda have to want to do it, and i know it isn't for everyone

Will be taking it very easy this week, will see how that goes!

Congratulations looking forward to the full report, looks like a lot of laps and a bit of elevation too.

Thanks buddy!

The report will drop on monday hopefully (i have the day off work booked for recovery reasons, so plenty of time to write it up).

Don't let that elevation graph fool you, the lowest part was 5 meters, and the highest was 7... I think I managed 40 meters elevation over the entire 55km run !LOL

I really think the weather actually favours the run and make it quite look easy

That was really a massive race you actually engaged in for the long run and this is great to see you constantly stay fit
