A hot day - PC build day and a short walk : January 5 2025

Steaming up to a hot day. Was not organised enough to get out walking early. Was 30C by the time I was ready. Best way to use hot time is to set up a new PC bought a few weeks back

Done this a few times in my life. It takes patience and waiting

Got hopeful when Windows said it could restore from the last backup on the old PC - did not live up to the promise.

My wife wanted to go to shops to exchange a vacuum cleaner bought ages ago - one day short of warranty expiry. Was impressed with Kmart customer service. No questions asked. Happy to see proof that the card used for the purchase had been cancelled and refunded to a different card.

A good escape from Windows 11

Went walking after we got back as clouds rolled in temps went to 25C

Red hibiscus - a bit wind blown. Did a short walk around the block to get steps of 5k - whew

Dinner: Had sourced a tacos kit from the supermarket - did the beef mince version - something different

Going to guess this is why I was having trouble posting last week. Actifit making changes to their image servers. Noticeable that my investing blog does not show images when view from InLeo - their front end cannot parse the Steemit CDN properly

Aha, could be true !INDEED

All Hive frontends need to move off Steemit CDN, of course.

You know, this is one of the pain points of this platform - image hosting. It's not on blockchain !LOLZ

I don't like windows 11, 10 is much better imho

My PC has been giving me trouble (right from the start) - it overheats and shuts down. For example it cannot render a video without dying. Finally decided to change. No choice about Windows 11. I hate it too

Do you always have so many gardens around you or where do you always take their pictures from?

Our apartment in Sydney is in a suburb with lots of houses many with large gardens. Given my walks are 3 to 5 kms long, there are plenty of places to choose from. I have one walk that gets bush access - the other bush areas I drive or use the bike-train combo.

Our other location also has gardens around and the bush is way closer. I ride to those bits. Plenty to choose from
