IPL Auction List Trimmed Down to 332 Players

All the 8 IPL franchises have picked the players they want to bid for today it was announced that the final number of players that will go under the hammer on 19th of December will be 332. Earlier, as many as 971 players had registered for the lucrative league of cricket. Almost 65% of the players who had registered didn't make it to the auction.

According to the IPL management, 24 new players will hear their names for the first time in an IPL auction. There will be an auction for a total of 73 players and 19 out of those players are capped Indian players. There is a possibility of 26 foreign players being selected in the auction.

Kesrick Williams, Adam Zampa, Mushfiqur Rahim and Will Jacks are in the list of those 19 new faces. Mushfiqur Rahim has however, pulled out of IPL this year. The likes of Eoin Morgan, Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins are expected to create bidding wars. Morgan and Cummins are in great form while as Maxwell has a reputation of being one of the best players in the shortest format of the game.
