AFL Round 17 highlights - Bombers into the 8!
Round 17 of the AFL again dished up some epic thrillers and upsets. Of course, we started the weekend with the most thrilling game of the Round, with the Pies scraping over the line by a point, and then Carlton producing an upset against the Swans.
The highlight for me over the weekend was my Bombers going up against the in-form Roos on Saturday afternoon. The match started with a high scoring first quarter, where the Roos led narrowly. But the second and third quarters, the Bombers got on top, but failed to make the most of their dominants.
In the final quarter, it seemed the Bombers would roll over the top of the Roos, then another twist happened in the match. North Melbourne managed to turn the game around and score 3 successive goals and hit the front late into the match. It seemed as though they would steal the match, until in the last 30 seconds, Anthony McDonald--Tipungwuti snapped truly to win the match for the Bombers by 5 points. This propelled Essendon into the top eight. What a win it was!

Even though I am rooting for the Bombers If you still ask me i would say the bombers were lucky and fortunate to have proceeded into the quarterfinal.... I hope to see them play in the final all the same
Can't believe how Port just fell over like that. Very disappointing.
Yeah, but the Lions are playing some good footy. Just saw that your Port will be coming up against the Bombers in a few rounds. That’ll be a crucial game.

I don't think we've been consistent enough to be taken seriously this year, tbh. You never want to write your boys off, but how do they play so incredibly last week, then phone it in today?
