This is the mixed joy and sorrow of the Cy Young Player of the Major League.

Ryu earned 11 wins this season by allowing one run in seven innings in a home game against the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday (Korea time).

On the other hand, the injured Scherzer has been delayed from returning.

Yonhap News Agency quoted MLB.com as saying Tuesday that the washer will not play against the Atlanta Braves this weekend. "I got a shot of cortisone this week because of inflammation in my mucus sac under my right shoulder."

Earlier, Shouser was listed on the 10-day disabled list on Friday due to his back pain failing to improve. At first, he was expected to pitch against the Atlanta Braves on Monday, but his return was delayed again.

Scherzer played catch instead of bullpen pitching. An early return is also possible if the condition improves. The Washington club won't be in a hurry to return to the club.

The National League Cy Young Award seems to be a two-way race between Ryu and Shugger.

With the win, Ryu went one step further with 11 wins and two losses. He also further lowered his ERA, the No. 1 player in the Major League, to 1.76 from 1.78.

Scherzer has nine wins and five losses with a 2.30 ERA.

If Shouser wasn't hurt, he could face Ryu in a game against the Dodgers in Washington on Wednesday. However, it is unclear whether a showdown will take place.
