Why I powered up on SportsTalkSocial and Goals
I came back to SteemIt a little over a week ago. I wanted to see how things had changed, how they have evolved. Things have changed, and I think a lot has changed for the better. Bid Bot's usage seems to be on a downtrend.
I saw the issue of bid bots, particularly before the most recent HF. Great content was often not seen, and bid bots seemed to be the only way to be heard. Too many people were not interested in helping others, and the reward was less than being in a clique and helping themselves.
This brings me to my next point; I don't have a lot of Steem, and it's hard to have a big influence or any influence on Steemit. I plan to continue working on it and power up so that I can eventually help others and ultimately create a better environment there.
Nonetheless, I saw @whatageek's post about Sports Talk Social, so I decided to check what this tribe was all about. I liked what I saw.I liked the fact that I saw people standing up against plagiarism and people trying to game the system. People worked together, and I saw little or no conflict. It was refreshing.
Yet, uh... One thing I've noticed is that a lot of the material on Sports Talk Social was a bit thin, and a lot of it was people just paraphrasing articles and giving little or no thought of their own. So, I decided that my aim was to try and curate and help individuals who worked hard to bring value to the tribe. I appreciate the coverage from a lot of people. But I would really want them to add some of their personal thoughts to the subject, and not just regurgitate what some other writers have said.
So, in the last couple of days. I've powered up about 900K Sports Tokens. I have no intention of undoing any and intend to power up so that I can continue to help veterans of this site and new users who find their way here.
I would like to add unique content to this website. I want to talk about what's going on in the professional and university sports world, and I want to explain what I saw when I was a college athlete.
I see a lot of sports like soccer, rugby and cricket being discussed. Okay, that's just naming a couple, I know almost nothing about a lot of these sports. I want to expand my knowledge of these sports.
I want to curate and help new users find their way here. I want to bring attention to those who do more than just copy the concept of another author.
I want to be part of the solution that holds this tribe together and part of the broader solution to keep the whole SteemIt site good.
I want to communicate with anyone who leaves a thoughtful or humorous comment. But I will ignore all spam!
I want to thank all of you for the warm welcome I got especially @korver @cryptoandsports @scarletreign @abh12345.sports
I'm not here to say what I think is important. I just hope that a few more people here, as they talk about sports, will give readers an insight into what they feel. I think this will help to encourage even more communication between people and a more healthy and active community.

Welcome. I’ve enjoyed your work so far and it’s good to have a man with a plan around.
Yeah, and it’s still happening - in multiple languages.
Anyway, if you do find some gems on your travels, I would be happy to receive links.
Cheers!
I will drop you a link if I find some gems!
Welcome to Sportstalk.good to see someone writing more than a few lines of their own words. Best of luck on here. You will rise fast
Hope to be more active. Making/Having time is my biggest obstacles. Taking care of my 1 year old and lesson planning for my special education class take up most of it.
I know the feeling. Ive a 3 year old . What did we actually do with our time before they were born??
I honestly have no idea. I think I just slept a whole lot more.
Great post, this is going into my next curation piece because I see you interacting a ton and being a very positive force on here imho. A lot of the material is "thin" so when I or you or anyone sees someones work they vibe with is a good feeling.
kudos, l'chaim, cheers
