Some Chinese-owned businesses have suspended their relationship with the Texas-based NBA team Houston Rockets.

This comes after Houston team manager Daryl Morey announced support for ongoing pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

In the controversial tweet that has now been deleted by the American basketball team GM will see the image written "Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong"

The Chinese consulate general urged Houston to clarify and immediately correct Morey's post.

In connection with this, China's state sports channel CCTV 5 has announced that it will suspend the broadcast of Houston Rockets television events.

The NBA's exclusive digital partner in China, Tenecent Sports, also announced that it would suspend the live streaming of the Houston Rockets games and even news about the team.

According to some companies, nearly 500 million people tracked Tenecent platforms to follow the NBA's basetball games last season.
