Footy Talks - Liverpool Pre Season Friendly Matches

Football clubs arranging Pre-season Friendly matches is quite common nowadays. Not just for the sake of to raise the players fitness level and to try out new tactics and new players, but also to reach out to the fans and to further spread their club brand and popularity.

Liverpool has arranged a few Friendly and Charity matches domestically against Tranmere and Bradford, then they flew to the United States to play against Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting CP. They will be playing 2 more friendly matches in Europe against Napoli and Lyon, which means, Liverpool will be playing 7 friendly matches in total before the Charity Shield match against Manchester City on the 4th of August.

As I mentioned earlier, friendly matches is used to rate new players and give chances to those up-and-coming youngsters to impress and show the managers and coaches that they are ready to step up to the first or senior team.

After 3 friendly matches, there are a few youngsters that I believe is ready to step up to become a regular squad member. Rhian Brewster, Yasser Larouci, Ki-Jana Hoever, Ryan Kent, Harry Wilson, Adam Lewis, Curtis Jones and Ben Woodburn has impressed throughout the 3 concluded friendly fixtures, but the most notable is Brewster, Wilson, Hoever, Larouci and Jones. I think Jurgen Klopp will give a serious considerations to include these youngsters into his First Team Squad as back-ups to the 1st Eleven.

Liverpool is scouring the market for cheap but quality Left Back position left vacant by Alberto Moreno. I don't think Klopp need to look far though, Larouci and even Adam Lewis are two good youngsters that can deputises for Andrew Robertson. These 2 kids has incredible talents, but it is up to Klopp to decide whether they are ready.

There are still 4 more tough Friendly Matches to go, and after these matches, I think Klopp will be able to decide by then which youngsters is up to the mark and which still needs more time to be developed.
