Arsenal Women Still Hoisting The Club's Banner.

Arsenal men's team were yet again held to a disappointing barren draw by Everton on Saturday. Arsenal's new manager Mikel Arteta can only watch helplessly from the stand, a glimpse of the difficult task before him. However, where the Arsenal men struggle and seem to be free-falling, the Arsenal Women have held their own so far, making true of the old saying;
what a man can do, a woman can do even better.

Arsenal Women, last weekend prevailed where their men counterpart failed, they defeated Everton Women 3-1 to remain on top of the league. Two(2) goals from Arsenal Women top striker Vivianne Miedema(14', 57') and a further one from captain Kim Little(55' pen) completed the routine win for the Gunners at the Merseyrail Community Stadium. Everton's consolation goal came from Chloe Kelly(78'). Arsenal Women looking out for the men or should I rather say the women are showing the men how to get the job done.
In contrast to the Arsenal Men who had recorded just one(1) win in their last 12 matches across all competitions and lies 11th on the EPL league table with a mere 23 points from 18 matches, the Arsenal Women sit on top of the Women Super League with 27 points from 10 league games, 3 points ahead of arch-rival Manchester City Women. The Arsenal Women have also only lost once in the league(1-2 defeat at Chelsea) and are on a run if seven(7) straight win in all competitions, some solace for Arsenal fans, isnt it?
Vivianne Miedema, Source
It could be recalled that the Women(Arsenal) earlier in the month recorded the biggest victory in the history of the WSL when they defeated Bristol City Women 11-1(the previous record was Liverpool's 9-0 win over Doncaster Belles in 2013). Vivianne Miedema helped herself to six(6) goals in the 11-1 rout, she's now on 14 goals and 7 assists with Chelsea's Beth England her closest challenger on 6 goals and 3 assist. Looks like the Dutch forward is going to top the scoring chart for the 2nd successful season(having won the gong with 22 goals and 10 assists last season).
Arsenal Women looks like they are on the path of a successful defence of the league title, a probable 4th title since the inception of the WSL in 2010. However, having come 2nd just by the whisker last season, Manchester City Women will surely give the gunners a stern and biggest challenge.
A new manager is on board now to try and salvage whatever is left of the Arsenal Men's team, though some critics and fans are not convinced that the Arsenal board had made the right choice in Mikel Arteta. Whatever the case may be, the men need motivation and the women are in the best place to show them their way back.
