Water: Lake - Waterfall - River / Wasser: See - Wasserfall - Fluss

From the storm rain to the snowy road I had everything today, just no sunshine.

Water / Wasser
Italy - Slovenia

Today it rained on and in Upper Carinthia it snowed, but before the weekend is over and I have to go back to the office, I wanted to do a little tour and shoot some photos.

A fairly strong rainstorm swept over the Lago del Predil in Italy, but in between it eased a bit, so that I could at least take a quick photo. The whole lake was intensely green today and the clouds hid the already snow covered mountains.

From the bridge over the Mangart Stream (Mangrtski potok) at the Predil Pass you can see this waterfall below the bridge. Usually not so much water falls down the rocks. The waterfall is about 50 meters high.

And finally, I visited the Soča valley and took some pictures of the emerald river.

While I was taking pictures, it started to rain heavily again, and because there was about 15-20 cm of snow on the road to the Vršič pass, I went back to Italy via the Predilpass and then drove home.

Amazing. This milky green makes the water even softer. 3 and 4th photos are my favorite.

Yes, the Soča River is so beautiful in its color - when I first saw it last year I couldn't believe that it's real.
Thank you so much for your nice comment @outlinez 🙂

Amazing place and photography my friend. It looks a bit chilly even in photos, but totally worth it 😁👊 Going back to visit Italy in Spring time.

Thank you so much @tomsmaid 🙂
Actually, it was not that cold, apart from the storm at the lake Predil ;)
If you go to Italy, maybe you have a chance to visit Slovenia and the Soca valley too - you won't regret it, especially in Spring time ... if the weather is right 🙂

Just checked, it looks amazing place. In spring will have couple months brake, will put on a list to visit. Another place to visit would be: Lago di Braies
39030 Prags, South Tyrol, Italy

It looks magical 😀

Lago di Braies is a beautiful lake where I haven't been yet. I want to visit South Tyrol next year and maybe this lake too.

If you don't want to feel like in a subway at rush hour you should be there as early in the morning as possible, because there will be thousands of tourists during the day. This is, why I haven't been there yet, but I know some people, who were ;) It is a very, very beautiful lake though, just as the rest of South Tyrol.

Wow even though the weather may have been what some would call !DERANGED you got some amazing shots I love them all, the lovely color of the water in botht he lake and river, the drama inthe sky of the first shot and you know I like waterfalls even more than !BEER

One day you will say "nomore waterfalls, please!", because I have so many on my todo list ;) lol

The rain somehow followed me, because when I arrived at a place there has been nearly no rain, but after a few minutes it began to rain. This happened on all places, and this is why I didn't even photograph everywhere.

Thank you that you like the photos JJ - the color of the water was much better in reality 🙂

I love the photo of Lago del Predil.
In early April I was in Malcesine by Lago di Garda. When spring storm came across the lake, it had same intense green colour.
Great photos @johannpiber 😀

Lago di Garda is a beautiful lake, but an expensive place, as far as I remember. So, you know this green color is real 🙂
Normaly the lake is dark green and I haven't seen it in this color before.

Thank you for your nice comment @cezary-io, I wish you a great week 🙂

Wow that Emerald River looks like it really runs fast! I love the color of that thing and that totally green lake was interesting too. It is not usually green is it?

Because of the bad weather and the rain there is more water than usual and the river flows very much faster. The lake is usually also green, but also darker.
The color of the river is usually more intense green.

Both of those colors are amazing and rich, I don't think we have very many lakes and rivers like that over here.

I know you meant like the Rockies or up in Wyoming or Oregon or Washington. I'd love to see those places too, there are so many great places right in the U.S. that I've never seen because this place is so big.

That's it - if I drive from one end of Austria to the other it might take me half a day, and on my way I would see everything from high mountains to beautiful valleys and lakes. A half-day journey in the U.S. is !DERANGED nothing.

Howdy again sir johannpiber! yes, a half day journey here would get you half way across one state! lol..well maybe not quite but close. Depending on the state of course. For sure Texas.

Right, and that would be half of one state only - in about one day I could probably drive around our whole country ;)

lol..very interesting. I haven't figured out the miles but I think it would take 3 or 4 days to drive around the state of Texas.

Our border is about 1,681.43 miles long - I think one day might not be enough to drive around ;) and Texas is about 9 times as big as Austria.

0

Yes, there are quite a few, but these are mostly tourist spots, so I'll go there if I have time and at times when there are no tourists.
For next year I am planing to make some nice hikes and photograph more waterfalls and lakes, but I don't know yet.
