About three weeks ago I hiked to the Summit of the Hochstadel early in the morning. After some photos of the beautiful sunrise, which I have posted in the past days, and of which more will follow, today I would like to show pictures of the Summit Cross, which I have photographed in several places along the way.

Vor ungefähr zwei Wochen bin ich frühmorgens auf den Gipfel des Hochstadel gewandert. Nach einigen Fotos vom wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang, die ich in den vergangenen Tagen gepostet habe, und von denen noch weitere folgen werden, möchte ich heute Bilder vom Gipfelkreuz, welches ich an mehreren Stellen entlang des Weges fotografiert habe, zeigen.

Actually, the summit looks quite close when photographed with the telephoto lens. The normal walking time is with about 3 1/2 hours. I reached the peak a bit earlier 😉

Eigentlich schaut der Gipfel recht nahe aus, wenn man ihn mit dem Teleobjektiv fotografiert. Die normale Gehzeit ist mit ca 3 1/2 Stunden angeschrieben - ich war ein bisschen früher oben 😉

After about two thirds of the way you come to a small meadow, from which you can already see the summit cross.

Nach etwa zwei Drittel des Weges kommt man auf eine kleine Wiese, von welcher man bereits das Gipfelkreuz erkennen kann.

The closer you get, the closer the summit seems to be, but in the mountains the view can sometimes fool you.

Je näher man kommt, desto näher scheint auch der Gipfel zu kommen, aber in den Bergen kann der Blick manchmal auch täuschen.

After about another hour, the summit cross is already within reach ...

Nach einer guten weiteren Stunde ist das Gipfelkreuz bereits zum Greifen nahe ...

... and eventually you finally reach your destination - you are on the summit.

... und schließlich kommt man dann auch irgendwann mal an das Ziel - der Gipfel ist erreicht.

The text on the cross reads: Den Gefallenen 1914/18 - 1939/45 - the summit cross is dedicated to the fallen of the two world wars.

Der Text auf dem Kreuz lautet: Den Gefallenen 1914/18 - 1939/45 - das Gipfelkreuz ist den Gefallenen der zwei Weltkriege gewidmet.

Except for the two shots backlit by the morning sun, which I photographed first, the photos were taken in reverse order on the way down from the summit into the valley, because it was still pitch dark during the hike up to the summit.

Bis auf die beiden Gegenlichtaufnahmen, welche ich zuerst fotografiert habe, sind die Fotos in umgekehrter Reihenfolge auf dem Weg vom Gipfel hinunter ins Tal entstanden, weil es bei der Wanderung auf den Gipfel noch stockdunkel gewesen ist.

Schöne Fotos wie immer!

sind die Fotos in umgekehrter Reihenfolge auf dem Weg vom Gipfel hinunter ins Tal entstanden, weil es bei der Wanderung auf den Gipfel noch stockdunkel gewesen ist.

Great to see the Cross and the idea of the trek to get there with it in the distance, and I do remember from my Hikes up Mountains the distance can be so deceiving, can almost one !DERANGED when you read a peak when you think your at the peak and see its just one littlle peak with a long way to go

Yes, you see the cross so close, but after the next hill it goes way down and up again - never believe the distances you see in the mountains ;) lol
... but it's such a good feeling when you finally reach the peak and touch the cross to say "hello" 🙂

I'm glad for you that your day is fine. Mine was so very busy, that I even couldn't Steem at work 😭

It is still gray and raining outside and I don't even want to go outside. So, I am editing some sunrise shots from a hike 2 weeks ago and write a few !DERANGED words. Maybe the photos will be a little overdone, because it's such a depressing weather outside and I need to compensate that ;)

The good thing is, that when there's a lot of work the day goes so much faster, but yesterday I wanted to prepare some posts in advance - at least one for tonight, because I won't be home in the afternoon and will probably come home late. Hopefully today there's not much work at work ;) lol

Thanks for the !BEER - this was another !DERANGED busy day and I'm glad it is over in about an hour. Then I'll be home for a short while and out again, but only for a dinner with my wife and some colleagues.
In the time when I'm at home today I'll prepare my tonights post, which is already in my head - just a few more photos as a continuation of yesterdays post.

... und ich habe überhaupt kein Problem damit - nicht mit dir und deiner Meinung - deswegen sagte ich ja auch, von mir aus könnte es auch ein Halbmond oder Buddha sein 😉
Mit dem Kreuz habe ich aber auch kein Problem, wohl aber mit dem, was es symbolisieren soll, aber das ist ein Thema, über welches ich nicht gerne spreche, und schon gar nicht auf einer nichtvergessenden Blockchain ;)

Oh ich finde gerade auf dieser Blockchain sollte man darüber schreiben, damit es der Nachwelt, sofern sie es wirklich lesen kann, erhalten bleibt und sie nicht die gleichen Fehler machen wie wir sie gemacht haben.

Aber anyway, es bleibt so oder so erhalten. Schon alleine die Gedanken von uns werden Gespeichert. Nicht von diesem schrecklichen System in dem wir im Moment noch leben müssen, sonder vom großen Ganzen unserem Ursprung aus dem wir alle kommen.

In der Tat ist mir das Kreuz als solches auch egal, nur mit dem es in Verbindung gebracht wird, das verurteile ich zutiefst, denn es ist verlogen, heuchlerisch und genau das Gegenteil von dem was es vorgibt zu sein.

Unimogs sehe ich meistens auf höher gelegenen Bauernhöfen. Im Frühjahr habe ich einen auf einer Alm in Slowenien gesehen - oben war zwar ein Weg zum Fahren, aber ich habe keinen Weg gesehen, auf dem er hinauf hätte fahren können 😉

"Normal" wäre, so wie alle hier in Klagenfurt, also in der "Großstadt" reden: Dialekt, aber leicht verständlich. Wenn ich meinen Oberkärntner Dialekt spreche und ein bisschen Osttirolerisch hineinmische, dann wird es schon schwieriger. Ich bin aber auch schon sehr lange weg von dort oben, dass ich mir wahrscheinlich auch schwer tun würde, alle Worte zu finden ;) lol

Meenzerisch und andere Deutsche Dialekte kennen wir von den Karnevalsübertragungen im Fernsehen, die wir als Kinder sehen "durften" ;)

Die Sendung gibt es immer noch. Immer am Freitag vor Rosenmontag.

Und nein ich schau es mir nicht an.

Uruguay ist ja auch so Karneval besessen, wobei hier anders gefeiert wird als in Deutschland. Ist mehr wie in Rio.

Interessiert mich trotzdem nicht.

Ich bin es ganze Jahr ein Narr und kann immer lachen, brauche da keinen 11.11. als Starttermin.

I needed 2.5 hours only, because I am a mountain goat, as you know ;) lol
The cross must be about 4-5 meters high what must be about 13-17 feet.

oh, I understand that they 3.5 hour time is only for regular humans and that would be far below your level of hiking. Is that cross lit up at night?

I don't know how they measure the hiking times, but I think it is as you say.
No, the cross it not lit at night. Almost every mountain peak has a cross - it would look quite funny, if they all were lit up at night 😉

I have read the same with wine - a glass of wine a day should be healthy. I don't know, if a glass of !BEER or wine a day is healthy, but I do know, that drinking only one glass does not hurt ;) lol

When I was drinking too much or if I had whisky or other hard drinks I have lost control sometimes, but usually I just drank and got drunk ;) lol
No, that I don't drink is not self control, it is just as it is. I said I try no stay "clean" for a while and it works. I just don't want anymore and don't have to control myself somehow :)

I don't know if I can't stop if I drink one !BEER but I don't want to try it, because I just don't want to drink - that's all ;)
Smoking is different, because I know if I smoke one cigarette I will certainly want more.

I wanted to go for a morning walk, but today we have had the first frost on the first of December, and it's toooooo cold ...

I also thought I was tougher, but the cold and frosty morning has somehow surprised me yesterday. When I looked out of the window I saw beautiful pink clouds and thought of a wonderful sunrise, but then I felt the !DERANGED coldness and went back into the warmth 😉

You would be very depressed and need a therapist which is so expensive that you would have to pay him all your Steem just to feel good again 😢

The times have changed in the past 20 or 30 years, or maybe this is quite normal, I dont know.
We have had snowfall in April and even in May, but when I was young in the beginning of March all the snow was gone.

The time runs so fast - this morning I realized that it's Friday again - the good thing about much work at work is that the time runs !DERANGED faster than I can think ;) lol

Yes, you are right, and I avoid buying things in this time, if I don't need to, because when I have time to search for cheaper prices during the year I am sure to find !DERANGED better deals most times.

The children get small presents or money, which they prefer anyway, but my Missus and I, we don't give ourselves. Adults don't get gifts from me and I do not want to get gifts at Christmas ;)

On such high mountain peaks you hav ea wonderful view to far away montains. When the weather is very good you might even see the sea, which is very far away, but I haven't ever seen it though.
You see ghost faces in the rocks? Cool, I haven't met any ghosts up there, only me ;)
