I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

A moment of zen is assured with a visit to your blog. Are your peonies in bloom already? Lucky. My fave flower for looks, especially the deep red ones. Freesia and lilacs for scent.

I remember as a child when I saw my first peony. If I could have imagined the perfect flower, it was it.

Can you believe my peonies are in bloom already? They are absolutely spectacular, as only a peony can be! Definitely for looks! I agree with you on the freesia and the lilacs! Lilacs were always my favorite when I was growing up. Of course, that didn't hurt that our yard was surrounded in acres of lilac bushes.

Every day that I live, I continue thinking what a beautiful world we live in. Thank you so much for always dropping in and leaving such beautiful words!

Brilliant. I've missed your photography and poetry the past couple of months. My very elderly iMac gave up the ghost back in March after eleven years without a breath of trouble. 🥺 It's taken this long to arrange getting a new one. Just got the new iMac set up yesterday evening! 😎

Yeah, eleven years – and it had two major lightening-strike power surge hits in that time. The PowerMac which I had before that lasted twelve years. I know someone who had an Apple IIc that lasted nearly fifteen years. I have an iPhone 4.5 that's still working. My son has a gen1 iPad that works as well as it did new.

Meanwhile, my son's Lenovo ThinkPad crapped out after not quite four years.

Now that spring is here I find myself being able to stop and enjoy little moments of peace. I sit on the porch looking at all the pretty colors of nature and enjoy the silence of the natural world. I like all your pink flowers. Here purple flowers are everywhere. It seems here in TN purple is a dominant natural color out here in the woods.

I am so happy to hear that! I have been waiting for you to reappear out of the winter! Isn't Mother Nature amazing? She knows just how long we can take it and she seems to make it just in time every year. I have not yet caught up on your school graduation. Since my life got a little complicated right about then and I lost track of everybody. So share with me what is going on with your life and how you are doing! Are the purple Red Buds? Or wisteria?

What's going on in life? Life is good these days.

  • I'm still working on trying to graduate. Was sick with a breast infection again in April so I got behind again.
  • I've started gardening again which I've been looking forward to since October. I also bought some more baby ducks that'll be here this week and I'm excited.
  • I've been spending most days with my 2 year old who is learning language faster and faster. She's so much fun these days.

I'm not sure what all the purple flowers are. Mostly they'd be labeled weeds. lol. I know all about life being complicated. I was pretty much sick from January to March and again in April. That and all kinds of life stress. It was nice leaving steemit and writing for a while to "find myself" and get healthy again. I hope you are doing well now and that life is less complicated. Like you I'm trying to catch up here.

I love these shots, hints of loveliness of the blooms...
Its my current phase of not all absolute photos but more pictures that evoke the emotive, rather than just eye candy! Lol - that sounds so unlike me!!

The white peonies are so abundant at my house right now that I don't have enough vases to put them in! Of course, I'm kidding, but there are so many that it is unbelievable. I must say that I have never seen a bush Bloom quite as much as this one. And each one of those flowers is huge. I have to say that they must be my favorite flower, or one of.

MIne are on the edge of the driveway, in the garden and are hidden by my cars. I will move them after blooming, but, then next year, I will leave them in the garden!!! :)
