Five Finger Islands Lighthouse
I am still alive ;-) Just finding it hard to find time to edit or post anything at the moment with a lot of movement and change in our lives. As for the steem price just remember its always darkest before the dawn. I have been stocking up.
This is a shot from a few years back of a small island that lies between Stephens Passage and Frederick Sound. Five Finger Islands Light was the first U.S. government lighthouses opened in Alaska, on March 21, 1902. It became the last lighthouse in Alaska to be automated on August 14, 1984. The original wooden lighthouse burnt down and the current art deco structure dates back to 1935. We were lucky enough to be radioed by the lighthouse keeper as we sailed past in S/V BOB and were invited onto the lighthouse for a tour. Taking advantage of a rare bout of calm seas around the light, we headed over to the rocky outpost in our little skiff and were able climb the light. South East Alaska, USA.

It's hard to get everything done that needs doing. I took some time off too. I trust you have come back as refreshed as I feel now! That's a very powerful shot with all those layers going on, and the lighthouse is right where the eye picks it up first!
So true. The difference is I am not coming back; I am a photographic nomad now .
That's fun! Are you wandering the globe?
Yes of sorts. We have the next 4 months in Australia
How exciting! I was a bit of a nomad myself until about 24 years ago. I remember the thrill of anticipating a new place. My husband doesn’t like to move though, so we compromise and enjoy vacationing in as many places as we can while we still can! Life is short!

Beautiful lighthouse, looks very nice thank you for sharing :)
Thanks
@intrepidphotos
It's amazing the details that I see on your photo including those solar panels and the crysp clear image of the light house.
Did you take this photo on a tripod?
and what exposure and shutter speed did you set it up to get such a sharp photo.
Hi. It is high speed taken hand held from a moving boat at ISO 100, f8, and 1/1250 of a second using a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM at 400mm.
I like so much your photo. The mountains behind with the snow looks like Switzerland.
Thanks
Congratulations @intrepidphotos!

that is a nice photo you have. I wish The American government did a better job with other historical buildings.
Five fingers was actually saved by a not for profit fund who maintain it. So I am not sure the government had too much to do with it.
Very nice, hope you will appreciate my work as well
