Masquerade: February 13 2024

Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!

It was Masquerade day today!

After spending my whole afternoon yesterday on making this cloud-hat, or whatever you want to call that creation, it was time to show it off to the world (or at least to the people in our square).

Right around noon kids from two local kindergartens and couple of classes of elementary school gathered around at our neighbourhood's main square.

They made a short procession around the square and then started dancing and celebrating Masquerade (or Mardi Gras, also known as Shrove Tuesday), the final day of Carnival or Shrovetide before Ash Wednesday.

Every kindergarten group had their own costume theme - there was a group of cowboys, a group of elves, aliens, wizards, clowns, all the common stuff. But why would my son's group be common, when they can be special, so we had to spend hours preparing for that.. 🤣

Party went on for an hour or so, and then they had to return to their respective kindergartens for lunch and mandatory donuts. 😆

There was more stuff going on in the evening, but more about that in tomorrow's post.
