The morning had a moody magic to it, gray on gray, misty and damp, with a whisper of drizzle that clung to the air like old stories in a forgotten book. It was the kind of uninviting weather that made you want to stay inside, but instead, I walked. The city felt slower, softer, Good Friday gave it an eerie calm. The scent of lilac wrapped around corners like a familiar tune, and down by the river, the Spree shimmered under a soft veil of fog. Japanese cherry blossoms stood out like pink lanterns in the gloom, a quiet rebellion against the grey. A few days ago, the same spot was drenched in sunlight—bright, buzzing, alive. Now, it was as if the place had slipped into a dream. Not cheerful, but also charming in a quiet, uncanny way.

Der Morgen hatte eine seltsame Stimmung, grau in grau, neblig, feucht, mit leichtem Sprühregen, der in der Luft hing wie eine verblasste Erinnerung. Eigentlich ungemütlich, aber ich ging trotzdem los. Die Stadt wirkte stiller, verhaltener, Karfreitag brachte eine eigenartige Ruhe mit sich. Der Fliederduft zog die Ufer entlang, als würde er alte Lieder erzählen. Unten an der Spree schimmerte das Wasser unter dem Nebel wie ein geheimes Flüstern. Die japanischen Blütenkirschen standen in voller Blüte, wie rosafarbene Lampions im Dunst, ein zarter Protest gegen das Grau. Vor ein paar Tagen war derselbe Ort noch sonnendurchflutet, voller Leben. Jetzt war alles wie ein leiser, träger Traum. Nicht fröhlich, aber auf eine stille, fast verwunschene Art auch schön.
