My Actifit Report Card: April 20 2025 - Christian Metal
I hope you had a nice Easter. This is a Christian holiday / holy day so I decided to add 2 music videos to this post which are loosely related to the day.
First we have After Forever by Black Sabbath. Sabbath pretty much invented metal music and no one remembers them for this pro Christian song. It is super heavy and not that slow. The guys were Catholic if I recall. At least one of them was, and he wrote the lyrics. Check it out!
Top comment on this music video with 2.1 Million views is
One of the greatest Christian Rock songs ever written.

Here is the big metal hit from Flyleaf, who is said to be a Christian band. The song is called I'm So Sick.
I will BREAK!!!!!

I haven't paid much attention to the lyrics, I just like the intensity of the music. The top comment for this music video with over 47 Million views says
Lead singer Lacey said that this song is "About how the world can sometimes be a sick and messed up place and how that influences us and tells us how we should live or who we should be. People do things just 'cause everyone else does and then they wonder why they feel empty all the time. Someone who has a firm stance in what they know to be true will empower empty followers to discover who they are as individuals with purposes and this creates leaders with voices of their own."
Be a leader with your own voice. Think critically about how to live your best life and mirror that for others. Don't just follow others without examining what your life is all about.
The unexamined life is not worth living
Socrates believed that a life devoid of introspection, self-reflection, and critical thinking is essentially meaningless and lacks value. This quote emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and questioning one's beliefs, actions, and purpose in life.
Some people have understood this for 2500 years. Don't follow everyone else. Everyone is trying to get you to follow them in some way or another. Take the time to study as many sides of as many issues as you have time for. Examine life, examine what people are trying to get you to do. Then, you do you.
My Activity
for today was enjoying the holy day with family. At night it was 70 degrees but windy so the hoodie went on as I left for my walk. It wasn't a very long one. And nothing remarkable happened so I'll conclude my remarks.
I hope you had a great weekend!
Have a Happy Monday!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The second music is great, the first has been removed sadly
Embracing self-examination fosters a more authentic life, encouraging us to carve our own paths rather than simply following others.
Man, Flyleaf are so good. I have their Memento Mori album and it's beautiful from start to finish. Sometimes she mentions Jesus but I really don't care. I don't understand all the lyrics. The music is good and that's what matters.
The ballad Tiny Heart is really emotional for me, has a special place in my memory.

I am not aware Black Sabbath is a Christian band. I haven't listened any of their songs but I'm aware of them as a band.
I often see Flyleaf on MTV back then! How I miss the band and also, MTV.
There are quite a few good views on these songs, so I will definitely watch them too, and there is a lot of interest in the way you have described.
