My Actifit Report Card: March 23 2024 - Do You Curse?
One creator I subscribe to on YouTube is hnnhxl. She is family friendly and doesn't curse. Today she posted this. The test reads "Why don't you cuss?" The audio is "cos it's iconic and I love to do iconic stuff" The last word is louder in volume and it sounds like she replaced another word, likely a curse.

I've been here almost 8 years and I don't think I have cursed once. If I want to use one, I will misspell it, like oh sh*t!
In real life I do curse on occasion. I avoid it among older people or kids. But among peers if it fits the mood then I have no problem using a curse word now and then.
When posting videos on here I usually add a Language Alert if there is cursing. Yesterday I shared the new Olivia Rodrigo video for obsessed and she does use the F word once. I forgot to do an Alert and I apologize.
My activity
today was random movement, moving around the office and a night time walk under a bright almost full moon.

When I was younger, I was asked by my friends the same question: "why don't you swear?" So I carefully repeated all the swear words I hear from my friends. They were disappointed and and said "but you said them wrong, you didn't mean it, you have to say it like this." Then they gave example of swearing with conviction. I wasn't impressed. I decided at that point it was not something worth doing.
Some believe using profane language is the most effective way to communicate, to gain favor with people, but in reality it just brings people down to the level of a profane society. It's NOT that clean language ELEVATES or makes a person superior, or profanity makes a person lower. No, it's that profane language leaves a semi-permanent stain that's difficult to clean up. Once one begins using the mouth to spew cursing and filth, how can that same mouth be used to speak blessings and life? Words are powerful things.
I made a joke a while back that was a little bit crass. Nothing really dirty, but it was unexpected coming from me. The look I got in response told me everything I needed to know. If I thought the joke was funny and worth repeating, then something in my head got twisted. Being exposed to filthy language and cussing and crass jokes, does change the wiring in one's head. IF they become acceptable in the ears, it's just a matter of time before it's acceptable in the mouth. I think it's worth guarding the ears and keeping the mouth clean.

Words are powerful, and better used for good than harm.
Cursing to me is not good because it has negative words
