My Actifit Report Card: March 5 2023 - Controversial Song And Movie
The Song
On my nightly walk tonight I was listening to music via my Bluetooth headband. A song came on with a really good beat to walk to. It starts out slow but it builds stronger and faster with cool guitars. Just what I like for a good workout.
The song is Gloria by Patti Smith. The very first lyric is something I never heard anything like before. It starts out slow, like a church tune, but she says
Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine!
This brings up heavy theological concepts like sustitutionary atonement and propitiation. Did Jesus who is also God sacrifice himself to himself to satisfy something in himself? I have no idea. Is it moral to allow an innocent one to suffer your punishment? Again, its beyond me. Is religion making up the problem of sin and then giving us the answer to its made up problem? I am neither a theologian nor a philosopher.
All I know is that this song rocks and makes me walk fast and with vigor! Do I care that she is singing this song about her female lover? Not really. I'm just trying to motivate my workout.
People say Beware! But I don't care.
The words are just rules and regulations to me.

The Movie
This weekend I also watched part of the award winning 2013 movie called Blue Is The Warmest Colour. It's about a 15 year old French girl who, near the start of the movie, has sex with a male school mate but she's thinking about an older blue haired female artist she recently met.
Not much later she is intimate with this woman who is maybe 10 years older than her. The scenes are quite graphic but there is a beauty in the cinematography.
Does it bother me that they are both women? Not really. How about the age difference? That's controversial. But they seem to have genuine love and respect for each other which I think is vital in any romantic relationship. The movie got a NC -17 rating so stay away if you don't want to see graphic scenes.
Stretch To Workout Your Mind and Body?
So between the song and the movie I guess I was a bit out of my comfort zone and my level of understanding this weekend. Maybe its good to stretch our thinking sometimes?
I hope you had a great weekend!

I do this myself or when I go for walk at night, I put on handsfree and listen to good bass songs, time passes well and that too because walk is very important for our health. It is and we all must if we spent good and healthy life.
Songs are very motivating specially when you are sitting alone and thinking deeply. When you are going to somewhere even on a car or through motor-bike or even walking. It relax your mind and you feel better while listening.
thank you so much for sharing the report and a great video, have a nice day
Did you find it romantic? between two girls? Sorry but I'm speechless because I've no idea of such feeling because I've a strong attraction to opposite gender and I respect same gender but can't find anything romantic between two. As far I know you welcome any kind of opinion so I just expressed mine. Hope you are having a great day today!
Yes I always welcome all opinions!
I'm not sure if I find the concept of two girls together to be romantic. It's just different. I like to look for different movies, videos and songs sometimes, just to see what is out there. I'll never know what it's like to be a girl with a girlfriend, but I'll also never know what it is like to be a super hero who can fly, or person like Wednesday Addams who is a misfit even among misfits. But I am open to seeing how people in these situations act, and how their life is,
I will say that the scenes with the girls together were very well filmed and you got to see what they were feeling. They were both smiling and appeared very happy and I like to see people happy! :)
Hope you're having a great day too!
I have also never heard of this song in my complete life, the music and guitar is good.

7537 is very nice score. Good work done
I think that song is a cover from Van Morrison's band Them.
Yes, Gloria was originally by Them, then The Shadows of Knight, then The Doors did a long cover which might be what influenced Patti Smith on her version. A girl band, The Belles, did a variation called Melvin.
Found via your Tweetie-blue-bird post.
I like your style and hope to hear more about things I didn't know about.
Congrats on finding your jam, also.
@onthemountain ,you and Bebe might enjoy the text also.
