poke rains : November 26 2024
my housemate reintroduced me to pokemon go.
i think everyone knows of this mobile game which was so viral pre-pandemic.
i could still remember how the streets of akihabara will be full of people once a pokemon gym had a raid.
of course, i was also one of those who joined in on the fun.
our office was beside a pokemon gym back then, and it was just enough to reach even at my own seat.
i was happy playing the game and it was the craze.
but then, the mobile game consumed a lot of battery, that was the only drawback.
and to be honest, i was a bit hesitant to play the game out in the open, i just find it funny how people stay on their phones and do the circular thingy to make the pokeball spin and have a higher chance to catch a pokemon.
it was funny to me but i also did it, i am a total hypocrite.
i was drawn back to the game because of the "route" feature wherein a trainer (people in the game are called trainers because they train pokemons), can follow a route created by fellow trainers.
i don't know exactly what the reward (if any) is, but the thought of following a recommended route excites this nightwalker.
so here i was, chose a route and started walking.
i almost forgot my usual nightwalker things, i was that giddy to start.
walked down the recommended path, until it led to nowhere.
oh my!
the route's end was difficult to check, pokemon go needs to improve this feature more.
so i ended up cutting the "route" short and walked freely.
damn, this was not expected.
at least i caught a bunch of pokemons on the way and even participated in raids.
and seeing tokyo skytree was refreshing, it has been a while since it's last feature in this blog.
it started drizzling but it was not enough to deter me from continuing the path i had in mind.
and the drizzles made this lighted road more dazzling.
not complaining at all.
i don't know what this building is, but it has displayed a shrine ceremonial float.
the nightwalker me had to take some snaps, of course.
it sure looked intricately designed.
i wonder how heavy this must be.
while doing all this, i was still catching some pokemons on the side.
i saw some foreign travelers pass by, i am near a touristy place after all, asakusa.
i continued walking very slow, it was hard to catch pokemons when walking fast.
this pokemon thing might not be ideal for me, i am moving very slow compared to the usual.
by this time, rain did not only drizzle but started pouring.
i checked the weather app and my oh my, 100% probability of rain.
why haven't i checked this beforehand?
and i was still far from home.
this is totally pokemon go's fault.
i wanted to enter this massage chair shop to wait it out, but i was already drenched; i wouldn't be able to use the chairs.
rechecked the weather app, 100% chance of rain for hours.
there is no point in waiting, i had to continue.
my cellphone got drenched as well, it was hard to catch pokemons at this point.
my cellphone lenses were clearly fogging up.
i hurried back home, it was even pointless to buy an umbrella at this point.
i was just thankful for the jacket i had on, at least it kept some rain out, but it wasn't meant to protect from the rain.
now that i am home, i had to take out my pokemon go raid win.
meet my... what was his name again?
i don't know his name.
oh well.
but he looks nasty.
me happy.
and herevwas the path i took.
it was pretty obvious which parts had the rains.
at least i am back home.
as for the game, i will still have to assess whether to continue or not.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!

Never played this game before. But I heard lots of stories about how people got into trouble trying to catch the thing!
So, you were drenched in rain! But you had a good exercise to keep fit. Hope you won’t catch a cold. Stay warm.
surprisingly i did not get sick.
pokemon go was definitely a craze back then. probably the first to integrate real maps into the game
You didn’t get a cold because you have been doing exercises and you’re very fit!
that could be a factor. it could also be due to the daily dose of vitamin c supplement i take daily. 😄
Oh! Yeah. That’s a good idea!
Sabi ni Google lens Dialga 😉
ay. ahahahah. dialga pla. thanks
