A Handsome Little Fellow……..My Actifit Report Card: January 14 2024
I was going back through previous hikes pics and ran across this handsome little fellow. Mr. Squirrel had long been my nemesis as he’d always get to the English Walnut tree and strip it of the nuts before it was time to harvest them. I guess he figured for his purposes, it didn’t matter if they were ready or not! I’d gotten to the point of just letting him have them! I just realized in seeing this picture, that I haven’t seen him since he was joyously harvesting the nuts this past fall. Yes, I know they hibernate, but around here, it’s only a partial hibernation as they are always about even in the winter. I guess only time will tell if he’s still around come spring. We’ve got bobcats and they like squirrel 🐿️.
Church was awesome as usual this morning. The church is alive! Great worship and great sermon too!
We did go the local grocer later as I needed the flavored sparkling water I like. I about froze between the car and the store! It made it to 25 degrees today, but somehow it seemed colder than that! 🥶
I opted not to go for a hike as I’m still dealing with this cough that just won’t let go of me and lack of energy. I wish this thing would leave! It’s been 12 days! 😜

Our son, Phoenix’s dad, sent us a pic last night of his kitty, Banjo. Just what is it about cats and fire? Banjo is a special kitty as he’s lost most of his central vision and unfortunately halls to wear a cone as his chin itches to the point he scratches it to a pulp. They’ve taken him to several vets, but nobody can seem to figure out why his chin is an issue. Despite all that, he gets around, plays and even steal Phoenix’s bed from her, lol! 😹🙀 He is a sweet kitty! 🐈⬛

That’s gonna be it for now Tomorrow would have been a post follow up training for the software at work, but it’s a holiday for federal agencies and although this company isn’t a federal agency, they took the day off and got a 3 day weekend out of it. My plans for tomorrow are to possibly go for a hike if it makes it to the mid 30’s and to work on my computer workspace to get it more user friendly. 😎

I don't know if it works the same but we had to fight them for the hazelnuts, we would harvest as many of them 1 week before they are mature and the squirrels get em and let them cure in a cool dark place in burlap sack for a month or so. He's a pretty cute critter tho.
Poor Banjo! He has got to wear that thing until it heals, or forever till they find a solution? Gosh!
No wonder Phoenix is not bothered by Cot & Cyle- she is used to the company of kitties!

They do take it off, but must watch him closely as he is quick to start scratching and if you don't catch it, he can bloody his poor chin! So he does get a brief respite from it.
