Sunday Slacking -- Actifit Report Card: January 19, 2025
I haven't dipped my toes into AI graphics yet, but I was toying around with Snapchat this morning while waiting for my partner to wake up. After the late night at our friend's place on Saturday, it was definitely a sleepy Sunday.
I didn't sleep that late, waking up around 8 am, but I didn't get out of bed until noon. Instead, I watched the EPL games on TV while entering my Splinterlands tournament battles for the day.
The cold, windy weather makes it difficult to plan any type of outdoor walks or workouts. I wanted to try this new pasta joint in our neighborhood, but it started snowing heavily right around dinner time. It was a hard sell to get her to layer up in the wintery conditions, but I knew she wouldn't say no to pasta.
I had these delicious stuffed pastas with stewed duck in the middle. My partner got a smoked spicy vodka sauce that was neither smoky or spicy. It definitely wasn't as good as the beef patty lamb ragu I tried for my birthday meal. However, my dish was so good that she said she would give the place another chance.
But the walk to and from dinner was just about my only activity of the day. I need to get back into the habit and routine of doing those indoor calisthenics to stay active and loose. It is the only way for me to get those steps up while it is cold outside. Day off tomorrow, so more lounging around the house is incoming. Until next time...

Sundays are made for staying in bed 😀

They are now, but not always! When I was in my early 30s, Sundays used to be my day for recreation league soccer with some buddies back in Austin, TX. I haven't played rec soccer in about 10 years sadly, especially because in NYC the fields are mostly fake grass and field fees are very expensive for the leagues. Besides, with my busy nightclub schedule, I typically need Sunday as a recovery day now!
I also miss playing Soccer... A few years ago, there was a wave of redundancies in my company, and all the young left, so no more soccer! 😢
I think it would be fun if our school staff (where I work) put together a rec league team for soccer, or even softball/kickball, but because of our student-facing schedule, there just hasn't been a time when we would h ave enough people to commit to playing a sport together. About the only thing we do together as a staff is go to the pub on Friday after work, but I don't drink so I'm solely there for the conversation.
