Last Day of Vacay -- Actifit Report Card: January 5, 2025
December was all fun and games, but now things are about to get serious. Sunday is the last day of my winter holiday before I head back to work at school. Luckily, Monday is only a soft launch to get ready with staff. Students won't be back in the building until Tuesday.
But Monday things will get hard. 75 Hard, that is. My partner and her friends decided to stick to this 75 Hard lifestyle to start the year and help set them up for success in 2025. I told them they should just buy more BTC, but they said it was all about their health and habits. OK, I'll join you guys then!
Here are the basic rules we are following:
2 daily workouts of 30 minutes (one is preferably outside)
Read 10 pages of self-improvement non-fiction daily
No alcohol (no weed vapes, no smoking weed solo for Sam)
Drink 1 gallon of water every day
Track a strict diet daily (1700 cal with 149/149/57 macro split)
No seed oil, no refined sugar, no food dye.
That's a bunch of rules -- no wonder this is hard! But I already don't drink, and I walked so much that I can probably sneak in a 30-minute walk outside for one of my workouts. We'll see how that goes. The two items that look like the biggest challenge to me will be drinking that full gallon of water (especially during busy teacher days), and cutting back on all those solo bing rips when I want to chill at the end of the day with a smoke.
With all these rules coming on board on Monday, Sunday truly was the last day of vacation. Although I woke up early at 6am, I didn't do much of anything active until nearly noon. I spent the better part of my long morning catching up on everything happening on the Hive blockchain.
The token enjoyed a huge pump due to low liquidity after Binance listed $HIVE in its futures derivative market. I read through three days of Hive articles from my followers and posted an epic recap of my trip to The Guggenheim through actifit. Do check that out from yesterday's archive if you missed it. There are lots of cool art pics in there!
All my activity on Sunday was confined to completing chores in the apartment to get the place ready for our 2025 work schedule. Luckily, our roommate is still with her boyfriend overseas in India, so we've had the place to ourselves for the last 3 weeks of the year. That will likely change sometime next week when she returns. Until then, we've been working hard on some major reorganization that will streamline the place.
We handled some meal prep by planning out breakfast and lunch meals high in protein. I really my partner with my 4 ingredient cottage cheese pancakes for breakfast. I was so glad she loved them because the macros are great, and the recipe is easy. We also made 24 bacon, egg, and cheese egg bites in those muffin baking tins for a quick and filling meal during the week. Great success!
My Denver Broncos winning their last home game of the season against Kansas City's backup players was also a great success, clinching them the 7th seed in the playoffs. Bo Nix, the Broncos rookie QB, set an NFL rookie record by passing for 18 TDs in his rookie season! Nice work, kid!
My work yesterday was basically non-existent! As you can see, I was up late and up early, getting a smattering of steps before the sun came up on Sunday. I didn't even leave the apartment to get food since we were stocked with fresh fruit and had some delicious leftovers from Saturday's dinner at Thai Diner.
I made it to sleep a touch before 1am, ready to take on the challenges of a new day, a hard 75, and the end of my winter break. Many changes are coming! Until next time...
