Murrua Side Trail - emergency post : December 2 2024
An emergency post as Fitbit servers are down. Luckily my camera phone has Actifit active and it has the photos. Got some steps measured. Did drive walk looking for hyacinth orchids

Trail was closed - ignored the signs and walked a side trail

Parked up tools. This zone has 4 orchids in it - all destroyed - one is unique this side right where the truck is

Fitbit recorded 8783 steps - so lost just over 1000. Fitbit did come back after midnight. If that happens to you, you can adjust clock settings on your device to a later timezone. Easy for me as I am in Australia with plenty of leeway. Tough if you are in Hawaii
You have to post before 12 o'clock otherwise the steps are reset and the whole day's work is wasted. There is much more happiness after seeing flowers and plants because they are natural things.
I was in the middle of the post. Actifit wanted to sync with Fitbit again. Fitbit server went down. Two different plans come to mind. 1. Post using the phone I do the photos on - it has Actifit installed and did not have to sync with Fitbit. As time crept past midnight, did have to change the time setting on the phone to get the previous day steps in. 2. Wait and hope Fitbit servers came up, do the timezone change to be able to get the steps from the day before.
I have learned from past events to get the post done whichever way works first. As I have not missed 5k steps or more every day since Actifit started, I do not want to miss any
What is the timezone trick? Move the timezone on your device forward until it arrives before midnight. Do the post and then change the timezone back.

8k steps count today , good. Many trees on both sides of the dirt road create a beautiful scene. The orchid flowers are very beautiful. Amazing photography
