Setting up orchid display on the balcony : November 30 2023

Last day of the month. Really struggling to get motivated to get on with moving stuff. It is a game of inches. Did get out to buy a stand for my orchids. It will go under cover - will work out later where to put phaleonpsis orchids when nights get too cool.

Pushed to go out to get some stuff from storage and to pick up orchids and mail from the old house. Flowers from the apartment gardens

The news that side is the house next door sold. Price was higher than outs sold for, for a house in worse shape. There is sometimes value in holding out for a price. My wife is a tad disappointed though we could have done without the extra stress

Was shown through the old house - they have panelled all the floors with pseudo wood floors - gone are the beautiful polished wooden floors from the 50s and the classy Italian tiles in hallways - no accounting for taste. Just as well they did not buy the house next door

Did install the orchid A-frame under cover

Did hang the stanhopea orchids

The buds pop out from below the basket - hanging is key. Will be expecting a note from the obergautleiter about hanging stuff from the communal gutter. I will suggest she installs gutter guard to keep it from blocking and flooding out our apartment

The ladies tresses orchid I had tied to a trunk has decided to flower this week. It has taken 3 seasons to decide to flower - one spike.

Setting looks kind of quirky on top of the arty barrel. The stump has another fork - will tie on a dendrobium kingianum there

Did get the investing post for two weeks back updated and posted

Note to self: Noted that the new owner had dumped the ladder from under the house in our trailer. Will move the trailer tomorrow - do not want more stuff added to it
