Donkey and Bearded Orchids : October 10 2022
A grey day breaks on top of all the grey days we have had. Just had to get out on the bike to do one hill before my tour. Decided to plan the walk before the hill work
Found a copper bearded orchid in a new spot
Calochilus campestris - 2nd flower
Probably the same - further along the track
Sun orchids looking for sun - not looking good to open before they self pollinate
Double header
A burst of colour - maybe a white blast to come
A bearded orchid emerging - calochilus paludosus - the tape is clue to ID
Kunzea double header
Got back on the bike to check a few spots - dipodium variegatum budding
Golden donkey orchid on the way down the hill
Duuris aurea
Good ride - one hill
A little garden tidy up
Dinner - Italian meat balls - step 1. Brown the meatballs
Make a tomato sauce
Pop in the meatballs and simmer for a bit - serve with pasta
