Grey Skies, Steady Strides
It’s official: I’ve entered a committed relationship with grey skies and foggy air. Today, I logged 17,000 steps with two 5km walks—one over lunch and another after work. Neither one was particularly “fun.” The kind of day where your motivation is barely crawling out of bed, let alone walking 10km in the cold.
But here’s the thing: showing up matters. Progress isn’t always pretty or inspiring, and today’s foggy views reminded me of that. The trees stood stoic, reflected perfectly in the canal, as if they too were bracing themselves for another long day. And that dirt road? It stretched on endlessly, a metaphor for the grind.
Despite the lack of sunshine, there’s something strangely calming about walking through a foggy landscape. Everything feels quieter, softer, as if the world itself has decided to pause. And maybe that’s the lesson—whether it’s sunny, rainy, or grey, the steps count the same.
Here’s to showing up. Every. Single. Day.

Yup, and it's still going on! Yesterday we went shopping in a center near an old coalmine, and while on the parking lot, I wanted to take a picture of the shaft towers, that we're like 200 meters away from me, standing 60 meters tall. Couldn't find them. Invisible :-D
