Steps, Shopping, and a Touch of Serenity

Today’s step count might not break any records, but hey, some days just aren’t about the stepcount, right? I clocked in around 6k steps, and most of those were racked up in the labyrinth of IKEA. It’s the last weekend of summer vacation, which means it was time to tackle some back-to-school shopping.

Now, if you’ve ever been to IKEA, you know it’s not just a store—it’s a full-on expedition. Winding through those aisles, dodging other shoppers, and trying to stick to the shopping list while resisting the urge to grab a few extra plants (guilty) is a workout in itself. So while I might not have hit my usual step count, my legs definitely felt the burn.

But let’s be real: the highlight of the day wasn’t the shopping. It was the quick mental escape I took, scrolling back to find a serene landscape photo from a while back. Sometimes, you just need a reminder of the beauty outside the four walls of a store. That peaceful scene is the perfect contrast to the hustle of today’s errands and serves as a little motivation to hit the trails again soon.

So, while today was more about checking things off the to-do list, I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of more active days. But for now, I’ll take the IKEA shuffle as a win.
