My Actifit Report Card: July 23 2023

Hello all. My walk today was exceptionally beautiful. July is one of my favorite months of the year to be outdoors. The sky is incredibly blue like no other month of the year.

I walked a different route today to break up the monotony of the same place I walk to. Each time I do go on the same walk in the same area I always see something new and different.

I got some pretty good bumble bee pictures today on this little heather plant.

The Bumble bee does not show up in the above picture, but it’s still very pretty.

I love the blue Hydrangeas above. They are gorgeous.

Thank you @cursephantom The bees won't do anything if you move very slowly and don't wave your hands around them. My phone scares them if I get too close. So I need to move very slowly not make a sound. They are very pretty bumble bees that are going extinct. It's OK if you don't want to get close. Yes, @fiberfrau they sure are! My mom loved bumble bees and I helped one a few summers ago with sugar water and laid the bee on a paper towel that was damp. It was a very hot day. They have been dying for years. The one I helped on a paper towel with sugar water got better. I put a little too much water for him and quickly got dry paper towels to lay him on. He was they laying still for an hour and a half after I gave him sugar water and got rid of all the water I clumsily spilled. I had put the bee in the shade too. After an hour and a half I went to look at him still laying still looking dead. I gave the bee a little nudge with my finger talking to him. He suddenly flew off very high into the air!!!! You are most welcome for the pictures @fiberfrau I adore bumble bees now. I loved helping that one a few years ago. 🌸🐝🌺🐝🌸!BBH !CTP

The bee's weakness is something caused by lack of food/flowers and pesticides I think. I read an article about helping bees this way a few years ago. I'll have to look it up again and post the article for you or something similar to what I read. !BBH !CTP

Oh @fiberfrau I found a bee tonight sitting on a flower in the yard very week and not able to fly. I feel so bad for them. I went and put some sugar and water in a cup and brought it outside with a spoon. The Bumble bee was afraid to get onto the spoon and fell I tried to scoop him up and he wouldn't get onto the spoon but I gentle encouraged the bee to climb the flower again. Poor thing was so weak and fell a few times. I tried encourage the bee to drink a few drops from the spoon and he/she climbed the flower to a place on the stem that he seemed to feel comfortable. I hope tomorrow he feels able to fly off. I don't know but sure hope so. !BBH !CTP
