El Cruce 2024 | Sueño [Esp/Eng Subtitled]

   Pasaron 7 años, y pareciera que fue ayer, de este evento deportivo al cual pudimos asistir, después de casi un año de entrenamientos y trabajar enfocados para lograr la meta. Llegar es un muy satisfactorio, pero en equipo, es sublime.

      Cuando en el grupo de ciclismo "El Ciclón de Ezeiza", comente que estábamos planeando dicha competencia, automáticamente varios amigos del grupo (La Pelu, Trejo, Juan, Nora, Whass y Luque), se prendieron a la travesía y dijeron, vamos con ustedes. ¡Fue genial!

When I told the cycling group "El Ciclón de Ezeiza" that we were planning this competition, several friends of the group (La Pelu, Trejo, Juan, Nora, Whass and Luque) automatically joined us and said, let's go with you. It was great!

      Viajar tantos kilómetros (más de 1500 km), durante dos días, te parecerá tedioso, pero créeme que con amigos es casi una receta médica contra el estrés. Las palabras están de más cuando les digo, que el común denominador de las tertulias, fueron las risas 🤣.

Traveling so many kilometers (more than 1500 km), during two days, may seem tedious, but believe me that with friends it is almost a medical prescription against stress. Words are superfluous when I tell you that the common denominator of the get-togethers was laughter.

      En el evento inicial, el presentador dijo una frase, que me quedo grabado para toda la vida, que dice: "Disfrutarán sufriendo" ¿Qué? Y arrancando la primera etapa, que supuestamente era la más fácil, empezaba a cobrar vida, dicha frase.

In the initial event, the presenter said a phrase that has stuck with me for the rest of my life: "You will enjoy suffering" What? And as we started the first stage, which was supposed to be the easiest, this phrase began to come to life.

      Es que correr en pareja, siendo un evento tan exigente, donde sale lo bueno y lo malo de uno, realmente es un desafío. Tres días, todo el tiempo juntos, sin nada para distraerte, más que charlar entre ambos y quizás, en los campos charlar con otros corredores, que estaban igual o peor que vos, era difícil. Por suerte, con Zuni hicimos un gran equipo y lo digo, porque observaba a otras parejas que discutían por doquier y nosotros, nos mirábamos sorprendidos, como quien dice "Estás en un evento único, en medio de la cordillera de los Andes, y te vas a hacer mala sangre, por nimiedades", absolutamente No.

It is that running as a couple, being such a demanding event, where you bring out the good and the bad in each other, is really a challenge. Three days, all the time together, with nothing to distract you, but to chat with each other and perhaps, in the fields, chatting with other runners who were the same or worse than you, it was difficult. Luckily, with Zuni we made a great team and I say this because I watched other couples arguing everywhere and we looked at each other in surprise, as if to say "You are in a unique event, in the middle of the Andes, and you are going to make bad blood, for trifles", absolutely not.

      La segunda y última etapa, ya los cuerpos más cansados, pero por suerte sin lesiones, fueron más duras de sobrepasar, pero nada, que no se pudiera lograr. Una anécdota, que en el video no lo dije, fue que debíamos llevar en las mochilas, la hidratación pertinentes; pero observábamos que muchos se tiraban al piso a tomar agua de los arroyos y en lo particular, cuando salgo de casa y tomo agua que no es de mi hogar, me cae mal. Es por eso que Zuni, no quería que tomáramos el agua de los arroyos, pero como soy, un tanto "desobediente", me tire al piso, tal cual lo hace un animal y créanme, fue el agua más rica que he tomado en toda mi vida. Desde ese momento, casi que me olvide de la mochila. Quiero contarles, con las palabras exactas y no las encuentro; De ahí recuerdo, una frase de un amigo, que dice "Que no te la cuenten", es decir, para comprenderme, debes vivirlo.

The second and last stage, with more tired bodies, but fortunately without injuries, were harder to overcome, but nothing that could not be achieved. An anecdote, which I did not say in the video, was that we had to carry in the backpacks, the relevant hydration; but we observed that many people threw themselves to the ground to drink water from the streams and in particular, when I leave home and drink water that is not from my home, I feel bad. That is why Zuni did not want us to drink the water from the streams, but since I am a bit "disobedient", I threw myself on the ground, just like an animal does, and believe me, it was the most delicious water I have ever drunk in my life. From that moment on, I almost forgot about the backpack. I want to tell you, with the exact words and I can't find them; from there I remember a phrase of a friend, who says "Don't let them tell it to you", that is to say, to understand me, you must live it.

      Para participar en estos eventos deportivos, e ir bien preparados, es necesario entrenar muy bien y participar de carreras locales, para ganar experiencia y estado físico e inclusive, meter una maratón (solo una), antes de ir para el Cruce.
Nuestro sueño, es poder hacerlo este 2024 nuevamente y ojalá, podamos estar ahí y revivir la experiencia.
