Como esperaba toda la afición de la isla, la selección cubana derrotó por tres goles a cero a la representación de Belice, en el último partido amistoso de dos que tenía pactado en la más reciente fecha FIFA. La selección estaba prácticamente obligada a ganar para levantar el ánimo y la confianza de una afición que espera mucho de ellos y más ahora con la incorporación de jugadores que militan en ligas foráneas. El cuerpo técnico realizó movimientos tácticos que surtieron efecto en el desenlace del partido.
As expected by all the island's fans, the Cuban national team defeated Belize by three goals to zero in the last of two friendly matches scheduled for the most recent FIFA date. The national team was practically obliged to win in order to raise the spirits and confidence of the fans who expect a lot from them, especially now with the incorporation of players who play in foreign leagues. En cuanto a jugadores, el cuerpo técnico realizó 3 cambios, Sandy Sánchez entró por Nelson Johnston en portería, Yunior Yuri reemplazó en defensa a Asmel Nuñez y William Pozo a David Incerti en el medio campo. En definitiva la alineación titular fue, Sandy Sanchis en la puerta, Cavafe y Modesto Méndez como centrales, Yunior Yuri y Daniel Morejón como laterales, derecho e izquierdo respectivamente. Karel Espino y Dayron Reyes como mediocentros, mientras Maykel Reyes por derecha y William Pozo por izquierda jugaban como medios abiertos en esas bandas en la línea de cuatro mediocampistas. En punta los dos jugadores que militan en la liga de fútbol de Costa Rica, Marcel Hernández y Javier Paradela. El primer tiempo fue muy parecido al partido anterior del combinado nacional, a diferencia que Belice le dio el balón a los cubanos. Imprecisión de cara a puerta y cierta falta de juego colectivo condenó al primer tiempo a un cero a cero en la pizarra.
Cuba took the field for this match with a 4-4-2 formation, unlike the previous match against Guatemala where they took the field at the Estadio Pensativo in Chapinas with a 4-3-3 formation. In terms of players, the coaching staff made 3 changes, Sandy Sanchez came in for Nelson Johnston in goal, Yunior Yuri replaced Asmel Nuñez in defense and William Pozo replaced David Incerti in midfield. Cuba salió impetuosa y su juego mejoró notablemente, tanto así que en una gran jugada colectiva, apenas dos minutos después de reanudadas las acciones, Marcel Hernández marcó tras un rechace del portero luego de un centro a Yunior Yuri. Este gol fue el número 600 marcado por la selección cubana y fue el reestreno de Marcel con la selección después de 11 largos años de ausencias. Sólo 10 minutos después de que se abriera el marcador, tras un córner sacado por Paradela, Karel Espino marcó a puerta vacía producto a una mala salida del portero rival. Con este resultado parcial el partido transcurrió con normalidad para la tricolor, quien lo dominó a su antojo. El cuerpo de dirección movió el banco y dio entrada a tres jugadores, Yasnier Matos por Maykel Reyes, Incerti por Dayron Reyes y Osniel Ramos por Daniel Morejon. Cuando todo parecía hecho apareció Marcel Hernández con su segundo de la noche para poner las cifras definitivas al encuentro, luego de rematar un centro rasante desde el lateral del área. Con esta victoria Cuba gana confianza para la venidera Nations League de la CONCACAF, donde se encuentra ubicada en la segunda división, con la idea de volver a primera y clasificar a la próxima Copa Oro.
All the excitement of the match was saved for the second half. With this partial result, the match went on as normal for the tricolor, who dominated it at will. The coaching staff moved the bench and introduced three players, Yasnier Matos for Maykel Reyes, Incerti for Dayron Reyes and Osniel Ramos for Daniel Morejon. When everything seemed done, Marcel Hernandez appeared with his second of the night to put the final numbers to the game, after finishing off a low cross from the side of the area. With this victory Cuba gains confidence for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League, where it is located in the second division, with the idea of returning to the first division and qualifying for the next Gold Cup.

Sigo muy poco a la selección de Cuba, pero creo sinceramente que van mejorando en cada partido.
Viene también de perder ante Guatemala en un compromiso cerrado que se decidió por la mínima diferencia.
Creo que para la expansión y el cambio total en el Fútbol Cubano, se necesita que los jugadores sean fichados en otras ligas, con la finalidad de que ganen experiencia, otros.

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo amigo. Aunque es válido decir que más del 50 % de la selección participa en ligas foráneas con contratos profesionales, esto ha sido un gran paso para el crecimiento de nuestro fútbol, aunque todavía queda mucho por trabajar. Gracias crack por pasarte por aquí!!
